Yeah I'm much the same as you guys. I did this palace all in one go and it burned me out quite a bit. Stopped playing for a couple weeks. It makes me appreciate Madarame's palace and how it forces you to break in the middle a little bit more. Like sure, it sucks because you lose a little bit of time, but it makes the palace a lot more palatable.

Man, I feel so bad for Haru. She's rightfully worried, and her new friends are saying "Nah, it's good. We're awesome and we've totally got this." meanwhile as the player we are burdened with the knowledge that her dad's shadow got loving murdered and things are going to go terribly wrong in the near future.

Everyone feels very human and relateable in that scene. Very well voice acted too.

While the localization has been spotty at times (as pointed out several times in this thread), all the voice actors have done incredible jobs IMO. Like I can easily point to several instances from each character and say "That is some drat fine voice acting right there."

Regarding Morgana's voice, I think the implication is that Akechi was spying on the group. He would have had to have been doing that really early, though. I don't think it's crazy if he happened to see them in Madarame's palace or something, because Madarame did specifically mention the guy with the black mask, so Akechi was roaming around Madarame's palace in the same general timeframe. I remember well the first time I saw this thread, Arist. I could hardly believe my eyes. I was a simple unregistered user, browsing through the Let's Play section of the Something Awful forums. "Step away from the ledge" gives me legitimate douche chills. What an incredibly tactless thing to say in that kinda situation. Also, the platonic dialogue for Ann is incredibly bad there. Disappointing stuff. I do genuinely really like Shiho, though. I wish we got to see more of her. If they ever do update this game I hope she gets a bigger role.

I love Yusuke. I think he's the best character in the game. He's just so genuinely funny, his 'starving artist' shtick is the best running joke in the whole game. Story-wise he doesn't really do much, but like 80% of his dialogue is very entertaining. Ann is a good girl. Maybe a little bland, but there's nothing remotely unlikable about her. She's just a nice person, and I'd totally hang out with her.

Robbie Daymond is so, so, so good. Best performance in a game filled with incredible voice acting (say whatever about the localization but the actual actors have been consistently top tier). Akechi's screams of "PERSOONAAAARRRGHHHHQGGHHHH" are genuinely chilling.

I find it so bizarre that they recast !Real Igor. Like...Dan Woren still does work for Bang Zoom! At roughly the same time they would have been recording for this game, he was playing Stroheim in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! I don't get it. It kinda ruins the effect when it's clearly Kirk Thornton just doing a soundalike.

The Valentine's Day scenes are always nice. I really wish there was more incentive to hang out with your girlfriend, because after you start dating you just basically ignore her until Christmas/Valentine's Day rolls around. Persona is a time management game and gameplay-wise taking your girlfriend on nice dates (which you can do, and there are many really cute scenes) is just a waste of time.

After how cool the accomplice ending in P4G was, these are all pretty underwhelming. Hopefully that's something Royal can make a little more interesting. Vanilla P4's bad ending was boring too. I should know, I got it like three times trying to get through that conversation.

As funny as the Valentine's cheating scenes are this time around, I prefer what P4G did. You have to go and visit the main character girls you aren't spending time with and turn them down in incredibly sad scenes. Yu basically gaslights the gently caress out of all of them and makes the player feel like poo poo. It's legitimately the most effective punishment for the player. They're willing to juggle multiple girls because it's just a game, but then they have to feel real emotions when that comes back to bite them and the are forced to deal with the consequences.
