It's weird to see Labour doing well (well, better than expected and rising) in all the polls but then see the Ashcroft prediction still be Tories +66 seats & Labour be -52

But then how you get stats like this or make polls accurate is voodoo to me anyway so whatever I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ashcroft also said that only 30% of 18-24 year olds voted in the EU referendum when it was actually around 65%.

I remember hearing that young peeps didn't vote but then that they actually did but never saw the source for the latter claim so I'm in limbo on it

Plus the only guy I know who really likes Ashcroft polling is also into libertarianism, the Adam Smith Institute, and CapX so I'm thinking that polling/the new Ashcroft Model might be somewhat skewered toward certain views - maybe that's unfair

there's been a lot of pissed off young people who've been galvanised by Brexit & Labour's been making a lot of voter registration/turnout efforts - we may get an unsually high youth turnout

lol if also old people don't bother to vote because the election was called early and they cba to

Ok, another question from a dumb American.

I thought for the UK parliament you just voted for a party nationwide, and then they got X percent of the seats based on the results? Is that wrong or is that in addition to counties/districts (IDK the correct term) having a local MP?

It's the exact opposite

Imagine an electoral college of 650 individual states, which are also the representatives

Good on them, when I worked at maccas as a 16 year old part of the induction was "while you have every right to unionise.. UNIONS ARE BAD THIS IS NOT A UNION SHOP HERE IS WHY UNIONS ARE BAD"

Never worked at Maccies. They actually say that? loving hell.

My Compass Group job just never mentioned it and it was zero-hours anyway so they could just not pick you up again if they wanted.

Yeah it was pretty noticeable even at 16 and not particularly aware, during training a bunch of poo poo about how mcdonalds actually looks after you far better than a union that would get in the way of things and take your money. Only lasted there a few weeks, I have worked some shite jobs but it was terrible.

Making my own half pounder burger with mac sauce was alright though.

A mate of mine at uni always went back to the same Maccies job in Milton Keynes every summer. She swore it was really good to work for. I guess there must be gently caress all else to do in Silverstone unless you're a racecar driver.
