Outsider take so I'm likely to get ripped to shreds for this:
There's a battle thats been raging for a mlong time in the Greens - the Greens started as a rural envrionmentalist party, but as time goes on to now it would be accurate to say it is by and large a middle class liberal party. That designation is something a number of people have issues with.
The Greens "should" be not middle class, its working class, it should be against the capitalist, it should be against capitalism, aparty of protest not of government. The Greens took everyone in as a broad church and the most mainstream of Leftist parties, but now they're the mainstream and being mainstream mean they aren't as close to their origins.
RDN is an example of this - middle class progressive nature, fighting for the long victory not true believer status. By being that he's a part of the Greens right wing, as viewed because well the left of the Greens gets pretty far left.
It's a battle for the Greens soul, and to pretend that the Greens aren't a metropolitan middle class party and that they are and forever rural socialists.

Yeah. If anything it's kinda gone the other way as more and more disgruntled lefties move to the Greens. In my experience, the older "original" Greens are vaguely centre-left but largely just care about environmentalism and a few NIMBY issues, and the newer generations are various shades from cosmopolitanist to democratic socialist. The shift to Parliamentary professionalism isn't linked to an ideological shift per se, but a shift in the backgrounds of the Parliamentarians, staff and OB from being environmental activists to largely socio-economic activists. But this is annnnnecdotal.
That isn't true of the NSW branch whose origins lie not in environmentalism but in the old Communist Party. Its why they stick out like a sore thumb.

Serious question, why aren't bike paths between parked cars and the footpath, and not the road? Why not shield cyclists with cars?
That would mean either contracting the footpath or extending parking to closer to the road. Either way unfeasible, and if a single car parks on that path riders would be effectively trapped and have to mount tge footpath.

Fairfax Media does not suggest the pair have any knowledge of, or involvement in, the alleged misconduct.
It's understood Mr Markovsky opened the door to plainclothes police on Wednesday with his morning coffee in hand.
Officers searched the premises late into the evening, sorting through files and reading piles of documents.
While the operation was under way, Mr Teplitsky invited a Fairfax reporter into the office to ask questions. However, police said no one was allowed in.
Mr Teplitsky then said "if that photographer doesn't stop taking my photo in one second I'm going to lose it" and "I don't care if [the police] are here, I will do it".
He then ran over to the photographer and allegedly tackled him to the ground.
About 10 officers ran out of the Rommark premises, with some yelling at Mr Teplitsky to stop resisting arrest.
Mr Teplitsky's sister, Victoria, and Ms Korner tried to intervene to stop the arrest, screaming "he's not resisting" and "get off him".
Another man threatened Fairfax Media outside the building, grabbing a mobile phone and saying "you don't want to mess with us".
It's understood Mr Teplitsky was taken away in handcuffs to calm down and later released without charge.
Police remained tight-lipped on the investigation but confirmed that "a number of search warrants are being conducted in Sydney as part of an ongoing investigation".
"Further details will be provided at an appropriate time," an AFP spokesman said.
Ukrainian-born Mr Teplitsky and his wife, Angela, bought "Aussie" John Symond's Point Piper penthouse for $13.3 million earlier this year.
However, the couple have since initiated divorce proceedings.
Rommark advertises itself as Sydney's "prestigious boutique developers" behind projects including The Gallery at Double Bay and Genoa of Bondi Junction.
Mr Teplitsky's vast portfolio of developments includes the forthcoming 19-storey luxury 8Hotel on Wentworth Avenue in Surry Hills, and the century-old 100 Harris Street building in Pyrmont, occupied by Fairfax Media's real estate site Domain.

A 15-year-old former private schoolboy accused of raping an intoxicated teenage girl at a party has been allowed to travel overseas at taxpayer expense to visit his parents in the school holidays.
The youth, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is charged with aggravated sexual assault on the girl at Bellevue Hill on March 4.
Another 15-year-old is charged with making and distributing footage of the attack.
Teachers at Cranbrook reportedly called police after learning mobile phone footage of the attack had been shared among dozens of teenagers via a private Facebook messenger group.
Court documents revealed that the girl had no idea she had been assaulted.
"The victim was intoxicated by alcohol and was not aware of the offence until she was informed by other people by text message the following day," police allege.
On Thursday Bidura Children's Court heard the boy's father has a high-ranking position with an Australian government department and is posted overseas. That country does not have a bilateral extradition treaty with Australia.
The court also heard the father's employer "heavily subsidised" the youth's tuition and boarding fees at Cranbrook.
And the government would cover the airfares for the youth to fly to his parents' country of residence for a visit under "reunion" provisions.

Christopher Pyne, who used to be the education minister but now looks after defence industry, said he had not had a single email, phone call, letter or visit from a constituent complaining about how the government plans to change funding arrangements for Catholic schools.
“I am quite disappointed in the Catholic education system nationally for running a campaign, using their parents’ money, that is dishonest and is trying to keep in place a system which is not fair to all Australians,” he told Sky News on Sunday.
The opposition, Bill Shorten, has attacked the Gonski 2.0 funding policy, saying that not all parents who send their children to Catholic schools are wealthy and they should not be “punished” for their choice. The shadow treasurer, Chris Bowen, has referred to the funding model as a one-size-fits-all model that will have “significant ramifications for the 20% of Australian students educated in the Catholic system”.
Have the Liberal's done it? Have they found an actual wedge issue based on Labor's strong base in Catholicism? And it's why Albo said "we should support this budget as a win for Labor over neoliberalism"?
