I'm working the elliptical so hard I broke the welds again. Did some reading and this seems to be an issue with the model but I'm not the original owner A) can't get it replaced and B) already had it welded once. But my buddy says he can weld it back up tomorrow and he has access to some hardcore strong poo poo that we are going to use to add some strength and hopefully keep this from happening again because I don't have the scratch to replace the whole thing right now and I don't want to pay for a gym membership.

I don't want to go biking. With the elliptical I don't have to save anything for a return trip, I can run exactly as long as I am capable or want to. I can do 15 minute workouts, cool down for a minute and jump right into the weights. The convenience of it is part of my success thus far.

Simple - you take it easy going on the outbound / warmup then you give it hell coming back. I only did 16.2 kms but the last 10 minutes was progressively harder until I go 5 minutes at close to or over max effort. Fall off bike at front door.

I've tried, I am incapable of pacing myself on a bike. The elliptical is ideal for me. Nothing is going to change my mind about this. Also going outside loving sucks and it is illegal to ride bikes on sidewalks here so you have to contend with cars which is not something I am willing to do.

No it doesn't. And riding on the sidewalk faster than about 7 mph is a great way to get hit by a car.

It's been raining for 6 days straight and the temperature all over the place. And riding a bike in winter is also not ever gonna happen. I'm also not going to invest $500 in a bike and gear when I can keep on doing what I have been with great success.

I moved a tv into the spare room and watch that while on the bike. I have also effected a massive life change in my activities and diet as well as the exercising.

And us mere mortals don't have 6 hours to ride a bike per day. Bke goons get defensive as hell.

Edit: Oh yeah, went and test drove that cheap Yaris today. The exhaust was incredibly loud and it had a CEL but the deal breaker was it being a smokers car. There was ash in every crevice and a dozen burn holes in each seat.

LoL, nobody rides a bike in NE Indiana in the winter. They can barely plow the roads for cars.

I know plenty of people who's only outlet for fitness is the gym and 90% of them look better than I do.

Oh poo poo, we've got a line on a Mercury Tracer LTS!

The LTS was, if anyone cares, a top of the line Ford Escort sedan with some LUXURY options (4 zone cooling or something?). And under the hood was the Mazda BP. Basically an Escort GT with lipstick. It's got 175K, some rusty doors but it runs and it's $1000. We might have a winner.

20 hours a week is a lot of loving video game time! I still want to play them, but maybe like an hour a day at most.

I've lost 20lbs in two months. I've cut all sugary juices out of my diet and all fried food. Previously I ate fried chicken 3 times a week, 5 Guys twice a week etc. I buy and eat fruit, low calorie foods, cook at home 5 days a week now.

For exercise I hit the elliptical every day for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on how much time I have. Three days a week I'm doing a basic weight routine.

The biggest change is I got off my rear end and decided to make a goddamned change. Anyone who knows me in person can attest to how lazy I was, I didn't want that anymore. My friend's murder was a major motivator to make this happen.

And I'm 5 pounds away from my 90 day goal and I have an entire month left to hit it.
