Classical artists all did bible fan art to help get popular. Like, it's kind of different, but the ratio of 'original' art to 'fan art' had always been a balance between illustrating popular character/events and creating new ones.

Why the gently caress would they compare it to a franchise that started in 1994, and hasn't had an entry since 18 years ago? It doesn't matter how similar it is, they're going to compare it to something that is more recent in the public memory because it's loving marketing.

I would barely consider HZD an rpg. Like, yeah, I guess it is because you have a few dialogue choices...

The White Dragon posted:Well what about like stat growth as opposed to player ability? I consider games where you can overcome a skill cap by just overgrinding numbers to be an RPG more than I consider a game with choices or even a lot of dialogue to be an RPG. Yeah, and HZD isn't really like that. There aren't any stats, weapons can be modified, but are pretty nuch static values, and while there is a skill tree, there aren't really "builds" because you can easily fill it. It's less of an rpg than Bioshock. Is Bioshock an RPG? I guess people probably consider it one, which, by these criteria, is valid. But again, HZD is much less of an rpg. I guess people considering "there are quests" as an RPG element. HZD has a wuest structure that feels like Witcher or Skyrim, but because the gameplay is mechanically very different... I guess what I'm really saying is that I'm not offended that HZD is low on a list of RPGs, because, while it's a great game, it's not necissarily a great RPG. Which is fine.

From like 4 pages back: I have no interest in AssCreed: Black Flag because I very strongly disliked the naval parts of AssCreed 3. Pre RDR, my favorite western game was DarkWatch, the western vampire themed Halo clone that gave us Horsepires.

CJacobs posted:Origin is so much better than Steam as a client it's almost embarrassing. I wish Steam ran as well or was so less cluttered or even so nice to look at as Origin is. It's just a shame Valve doesn't have to make Steam function that well because people are gonna use it (in a lot of cases have to) no matter what. Origin worms its way into my computers startup processes in a way that steam never does, and it's constantly trying to run background poo poo or install updates when I don't even want it to be running.

CJacobs posted:That is a bummer but you can just tell it not to do that and it won't anymore. I get a popup telling me I need to download an update just about every time I launch the thing because it can't do it automatically anymore but whatever. I mean, I used origin like, once 4 years ago, and after not seeing for 4 years, I caught it doing poo poo like 6 months ago. I think what happens is, when you update it, it resets its preferences to start automatically. GOG is real gross and horribly buggy, both as an interface and as a service. I don't have any special attachment to steam, but it does work just fine and doesn't piss me off very much.

Right there in his library.

The caveat to that is to buy your printer online and make sure it's a common model. I bought a brother at Staples and when I had some problems with drivers discovered that it's some bullshut limited run model with very limited support. It still prints very well, but it did not plug and play like it was supposed to.
