I saw some offseason question about which young SS you'd want to build a team around - Correa or Lindor - and in my mind it felt like such an obvious choice for Correa. Lindor really looks superb though. Lotta fun young talent in the league.

Also, that thread title is fantastic.

I have tickets to see Edgar's number retired!

I'm part of a wedding that's happening the next day. I don't know how that's going to work out.

Gonna doublepost, cause James Paxton just went on the DL with a left forearm strain. That's 3 out of the 5 original starting pitchers on this team on the DL now. Also, left forearm strain sounds too ominous...

I still don't understand why so many people are anti-walk. Like, sure, a walk's not a dinger or a double, but it's not a K or a DP either.

You should let I'd make regional or divisional threads so you can confine all the east coast smack talk between the Yankees and all the bad teams to one thread, a midwestern thread for the Cubs and Pirates, and a California thread for the west coast.

Excuse me, Seattle is clearly part of the West Coast. :colbert:

The Phillies apparently forgot how to pitch recently, so I wouldn't get too excited about beating them.

On the other hand Aaron Altherr is a beautiful, wonderful man.

So did the Ms; the last two games featured 36 runs between the two teams.

Mariners' DL consists of Felix, Paxton, Smyly, Iwakuma, Haniger and Cishek. Yet they're still playing .500 ball. Looking forward to lots of dingers from both sides in Toronto!

It's May 10th. It's way too early to get excited about this team.

But dear god, I [i]really[i] want to get excited about this team.

The Mariners dig out of their hole, see their shadows and run back down, breaking a few more players along the way.

Yeah, the fact that they struggled back to .500 was really impressive, but the Jays have just destroyed them. I don't know what to think of this team.

The DL being a mile long certainly doesn't help.

How long have full time DH's been around? If I remember right when the rule came around it was mostly used as a half day off for a regular position player?

I could be very wrong here, but I'd think I'd remember someone earlier than Edgar as a DH if so.

Pretty sure Edgar was the first full time DH, yeah.
