Craptacular! posted:If they kill anyone, it's probably Crawford. I'd like to think that Dusty can tell that this was dumb poo poo between two guys that wasn't condoned by the other team, but when he managed the Reds he had a guy throw around Buster's legs for an honest accidental HBP. Dusty already gave his "We don't start trouble, but we certainly don't take trouble lying down" tough guy talk yesterday after the game. Hopefully if the Nats feel they have to bean somebody, it won't be the guy who's fresh off the concussion DL and spent the bulk of the brawl standing off to the side looking on disapprovingly.

Timby posted:Wasn't Heyward's RBI double yesterday the first non-homer run they'd scored in like a week and a half> Yep, and then the Cubs immediately stranded a lead-off triple in the very next inning as if to drive the point home that Heyward's hit was an anomaly, not a turn around. New Concept Hole posted:That's too nuanced to be unwritten You're right of course, if anything Posey probably upgraded his standard butt tap beaning to a head beaning for being a bad teammate who didn't back up his pitcher.

Well looks like we've finally found a player on Posey's side for not trying to restrain Harper. Albeit probably not for the best reason https://twitter.com/670TheScore/status/869634680513081344 https://twitter.com/670TheScore/status/869634844057382916 https://twitter.com/670TheScore/status/869635698407723014

Comptroll The Forums posted:Okay, new rule. Anytime a batter gets HBP, the batter gets to pick up the ball and whip it as hard as he can back at the pitcher. The pitcher can avoid getting hit by running to the dugout and hiding behind the manager like a small child. If the pitcher gets to the dugout before the batter throws the ball, the batter takes his base and the game goes on. If the batter throws the ball and misses the pitcher, the batter gets ejected. If the batter throws the ball and hits the pitcher, they both get ejected. If the batter throws the ball and the pitcher catches the ball, the pitcher gets a free chance to bean the batter a second time, after which both are ejected. Anybody who interferes with this ritual gets ejected. I'd only make one minor alteration, which is that if the pitcher catches the ball and throws it back, the batter also has a chance to catch the ball and throw it back in turn. This game of high stakes catch continues on until somebody misses (in which case they are ejected) or somebody gets hit (in which case both are ejected).

I would like to nominate John "21% HR/FB" Lackey for the HRD.

At least I'll get to see Fowler get his WS Ring and a standing ovation at Wrigley on Friday before the Cardinals absolutely grind up the Cubs into a fine powder and snort them. Kevlar v2.0 posted:I made a more appropriate version:
