Just finished this book. The Caligula arc is legitimately absurd. Did anyone else find this book unexpectedly funny at times? I'm definitely going to get the sequel from the library pretty soon. As for suggestions, Denis Johnson recently died, so one of his books could be the BOTM. Angels, Fiskadoro, and Jesus' Son all seem to be generally well-regarded.
