I bought a few from Home Depot in the last month and they're fine. One is top and bottom pull down, other is bottom only.

No strings to pull, I presume so dumb kids don't hang themselves or something.

I was surprised that there are models that are black out, but I didn't get any of those.

They could've tossed in a separator between sink and urinal at least. Or flip flop toilet and urinal.

It certainly helps that the squares look like they're 2'x2' and the rectangles look to be 1'x2'. As long as you start them all in the same row off screen to the left, it seems like it would just end up that way.

So last weekend I decided to do a quick bathroom refresh to get one project knocked off on my newer-to-me 80's house with a 1 week after-work timeline, which I pretty much hit, just need to finish caulking.

Tub is almond or ivory, it works fine so left it and the toilet, doing the floor, vanity, light, mirror, towel bars, mostly Ikea godmorgon stuff. Things went pretty well and it was in the ballpark of my $1k budget.

Inspired by the thread title, that ugly thing above the toilet is now gone but it's.. too bare. What should go there? Art? a towel bar? I don't need more storage.

I installed that light in a kitchen and like it. However, it and several others have integrated non replaceable lcd lights, it's going to be a bummer to have to replace the fixture when some lights go out.

I'm sure some exist, but now that we're all in on led lighting we need to update the standards to be more modern, not have everything incandescent shaped.

I replaced most lighting in my house when I moved in last year, donated all old fixtures to Habitat ReStore. I enjoy going in there and while there, checking if anyone bought the ugly old brass stuff. Spoiler: most are still there.

And flyscreens. I'm horrified at the overall lack of flyscreens in American houses. I couldn't fathom living in a home that doesn't have screens on every door and window.

Curious what part of USA doesn't have window screens? I know some tropical non USA spots like Jamaica does that and it seems odd to me.

I, like many, live in an area with tons of mosquitos in summer, that + a light on at night would equal thousands of bugs in the house daily.

Re: window decorations, a lot of people take curtains and blinds down when selling if they want to keep them. If you leave them up it's implied they go with the house.
