This Castlevania fan game just released. I've played an hour or today so and I think it's very nice. Surprisingly, Konami has acknowledged it without forcing the developer to take it down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht-IL7eccrE It's like a mixture of Castlevania 2 + any GBA/DS era Castlevania. I'm really enjoying it. I think Another Metroid 2 Remake is pretty well known and talked about and it deserves it! Pretty great adaptation of Metroid 2 that makes the game a lot more fun without sacrificing the essential design of "Killing all the Metroids and getting out".

Yeah black mesa still isn't done but I had a lot of fun playing what there is. It's cool how the levels dont mirror HL1 in places but they still feel the same overall
