Seems like the family may be in danger if Coop-Dougie doesn't pay off his debts like he's supposed to. He was supposed to do it that day

I assume the different muscle cars watching Dougie's car belong to different groups, otherwise the guy wouldn't have tried to start the car and blown himself up. Maybe the first group will assume the burnt corpse is Dougie. Is there any reason to believe the second group is trying to kill him?

Lynch's shots of people just silently sitting or standing somewhere (sometimes super awkwardly) for a minute are my favourite. It lets you contemplate the scene before something happens.

Even better if characters are making facial expressions at each other which seem out of place but actually feel so right.

I don't think she's ugly, but the little neck twist thing she does all the time doesn't look very cool. She was doing it in interviews too, so I don't know if she was still channeling the character or what. Overall I think she'll be an interesting character.

Nah the guys he owes money to were the guys wearing black in the black car. That's why they fell for the carbomb.

The other guys who are trying to kill are almost certainly hired by evil Coop. They told the lady that they haven't killed him yet and she passed the message along to evil Coop in jail via that box in Argentina.

poo poo, oh yeah

So his family could still be hosed with for him missing that call. Maybe that's why he didn't get picked up...

I think it's more likely the black car guys are related to the owed money than random dudes, the development doesn't exactly seem like a high traffic area. The woman across the street gave me a squatter vibe. They could've shaken down his favorite hoo-ah for the last place she saw him.

Is that not perfect territory for day-time grand theft auto?

so they just cruise failed / incomplete developments and make note of every car and check back every few days?

it just seems very unlikely that anyone would notice or care about a car sitting in a place like that.

I think it's much more likely that the people Dougie owes a presumable gambling debt to would know where he hangs out / what whores and pimps he knows and get his last known whereabouts from Jade

hawowanlawow

Ok, fair enough. I guess we'll see if they were the people actually looking for Dougie, or some completely unrelated criminals committing a completely unrelated crime. Only time will tell.

Comedy option: they are the people looking for Dougie, but now they are scared of him because one of their guys blew up. Boss bad guy gets mad at his underlings for not being able to collect on some goofball insurance man and sends another crew to get him, just in time for evil Cooper to arrive and gently caress them up.

Continue hijinks as debtors and evil Cooper are both looking for good Cooper. Sometimes the debtors see idiot good Cooper and move in for the kill, only to be faced with an evil Cooper switcheroo at the last second. Possibly the debtor crew consists of one dumb guy and one angry guy.

I don't have a problem with sex workers, but Jade did just dump a dude who had clearly just had some kind of heart attack / stroke at a casino. He was complaining about his arm tingling, then passed out and threw up and was acting bonkers. I don't think I would call that "upstanding." Not that his wife seems to pick up on the situation any better...

I notice the upload says interrupted by the wife, I got the impression she was his sister in the scene. Maybe from her saying "dad needs a ride", though it doesn't necessarily mean it's both of their dad (and Harry's). Could go either way from the dialogue unless I missed a bit. Great scene!

That drug guy getting chewed out in his interview was also great. And Tom Sizemore. Every scene.

My girlfriend thought the same thing, but I'm pretty sure Lucy told him his wife was there.

I agree that the guy getting chewed out ruled. "What an rear end in a top hat."

I admit, when the hit and run scene was being telegraphed, at first I thought he was going to run over Stanton somehow. When the kid came running along, I was like "whew."

I enjoyed Richard calling his supplier "that magic bastard" or, motherfucker, or whatever it was exactly.

Also, I like that Chad looks like such a typical scruffy bearded slob.

After work I'll bust out the old episode and see if either of the two guys Dougie's wife met in the park were in the black car crew. I'm more convinced that the black car crew were random car jackers now since the two guys made no mention of the explosion.

I thought it was a pretty good touch that the guy in the front of the line just sat there in his car while everyone else got out. He's the one who waved the kid out. I had a dog yank the leash from someone's hands and run into my car recently, and while I had no intention of leaving, I sat in my car for probably 20-25 seconds just thinking "fuuuuuuuck."

ehhhh I really don't think this is the case. She seems genuinely shocked to see what Coop has become. If evil Coop was the one who visited her that night, she wouldn't have said "that wasn't the Coop I knew," she'd say "that was the same Coop I saw that night."

I think it's a lot simpler: she and Coop had a really close relationship (he left her messages every day). He disappeared. She blames Gordon and his crew for allowing that to happen. She might think they didn't try hard enough to find him (it's the FBI, they shouldn't allow a guy to go missing for 25 years). They also might have shut her out of the investigation or turned her away when she reached out for information.

This makes more sense to me

But she did say she had more to tell Gordon
