If you're not striving to improve, you'll end up going backwards.

quote:

Former Liverpool captain Ronnie Whelan has criticised the transfer business done by the club this summer.

Writing in the Irish Independent, Whelan says: "Set against the business Manchester United and Manchester City have done, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp look like amateurs.

"Worse, Ronald Koeman and Everton have been spending like they’ve found a money tree.

"He [Klopp] has some gaping holes in his squad and by the looks of things, no more money to spend unless they take Barcelona’s offer for Philippe Coutinho."

No money to spend? Yeah thats what the issue was when we were throwing £70m for Keita and VVD before this Coutinho poo poo started.

The rumour is that's behind Dembele's fit with Dortmund too. Barcelona's been going to these players and telling them basically, it's now or never so they have to throw a fit and force a move from their clubs

The sudden and complete devolution of Barcelona into transparently A-grade cunts has been hilarious to watch, imo

On the Dembele note:

DORTMUND STAND FIRM ON DEMBELE

Borussia Dortmund say they will not negotiate with Barcelona over a price for Ousmane Dembele as the clock keeps ticking in their stand-off with the want-away winger.

Dortmund suspended Dembele indefinitely on August 10 when the 20-year-old boycotted training in protest after the German club rejected an initial bid from Barcelona.

"We are prepared to sell him and what we want is on the table," confirmed Dortmund's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. "When it's not met, Dembele will stay with us. We will not negotiate."

I hope the Coutinho transfer rumbles on until the last day of the window in fact until hours after the window closes causing maximum disruption with wild claims and counter claims, causing rifts and bad blood in Liverpool's dressing room and boardroom and among the fans which has repercussions for months to come.

Whether he stays or goes I couldn't give a steamy shite :D :D :D

The same thing basically happened with DeGea and the Utd fans didnt seem to give a poo poo that he didnt go, neither did the players, Klopp has already welcomed him back with open arms as he understands this poo poo happens all the loving time.

If Coutinho doesnt go nothing is going to change as hes not being acting like a child about it the way that Dembele has been, he handed in a transfer request (I dont buy the whole Barca forced him to do that, thats some revisionist poo poo). But hes been really civil over this loving abortion of a transfer saga,

MBAPPE SET FOR €150M PSG MOVE

Kylian Mbappe is one step away from becoming a PSG player, according to sources in France.

L’Equipe reports that there is an agreement in place between PSG and Monaco which will be completed once one of the current PSG trio of Julian Draxler, Lucas Moura or Javier Pastore agrees to head in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

There have been significant steps forward taken in the negotiations in recent days, with Le Parisien claiming that PSG will pay €150m and part exchange one player to land the most coveted young forward on the Continent.

Its gonna be difficult for Liverpool if teams think that Coutinho is about to leave. Clubs will feel like they could push an extra 10-20m out of them after he leaves

Quote this post when he blows an ACL in March 2018

Because we are going to be competing with lots of other teams next year when his contract is closer to expiring (or is expired). Considering its going to be around 50m when they were rejecting 70m bids for him a month ago I think its pretty smart OP

Realistically though if we get Lemar too then yeah. Coutinho is gone.

Also I'm pretty sure we are no where near 200m this window. Considering Salah and Keita combined was less than 100m
