Paddling was an acceptable punishment by the dean or the principal if you were a real rear end in a top hat. All of the people that I knew that were paddled probably deserved it because they were all little shitheads. The administration had to get written parental consent beforehand though. My parents, my dad specifically, told them to gently caress off and if they touched my brother and I that "he would deal with them." It was a touchy subject where a lot of parents were ok while a vast majority of parents threatened lawsuits so they went with the written consent. The best part was if you got paddled you got to sign the paddle used. Some kids took it as a point of pride.
