Anyone else here waiting with baited breath for the CBO scoring of the AHCA bill? I suspect that the fireworks will be amazing.

For those who haven't been following the Montana election, Quist has largely been campaigning on health care and how awful the AHCA is. The timing of the CBO score is pretty great for him.

Also, Democrats won a state senate seat in NY that has literally never been held by a Dem in a district Trump won by 20 points:

Thats my district. She was campaigning like crazy, we had three or four people at our door in the past few weeks asking us to support her. I saw signs for her all over the place, while I never heard a peep from the other guy. I guess his campaign strategy was to do nothing and coast to a win since it is such a republican area.

It's actually loving stupid to empower one person, any person, with the ability to destroy the world. You should have huge problems with this system.

The idea was that during the cold war, if the USSR launched nukes at the US we had maybe 40 minutes before we started a 'brave new world', and the POTUS did not have time for formally call congress to get a war declared.

Now they should update the RoE that POTUS can only launch nukes if we are attacked in kind and not for any other reason.

How much do you bet that Gianforte is going to win the congressional race in Montana even after bodyslamming a reporter, due to all the early mailed in ballots collected. Of the 250,000 received most are probably going to go towards him. I wonder how energized the democratic base is.

Keeping Trump:
Good - They can't get poo poo done, they will be mired in scandal, republican brand will be badly damaged for years
Bad - Trump has access to nukes, is badly diminishing American prestige abroad.

Getting rid of trump:
Good - Getting nutter away from nukes
Bad - President Pence knows how to actually govern, will enact far right republican agenda.

I can just imagine that trump went into the election thinking that being president was actually pretty easy and you didn't need to do much other than tell other people to do stuff and somehow it got done. Then he could just bask in the glory of being president and lap up the adoration of the American people.

Ego above anything.

These six months have been terrible for this country. He needs to go and fast.

At age 24, Scaramucci purchased the firm his father worked for and laid off all workers and hired non union foreign workers. When explaining to his father why he was suddenly going to be out of a job, Scaramucci reportedly said "Sorry dad, but firing you was just good business sense."
