The dude that transferred over the Warhams and the Maurader models from MWO has now completed the PHawk. I am not really a huge fan of this iteration, but more mediums is always a good thing in my book.

Unlike MWO, the PHX should be fantastic in this game.

I want MASC for my Hatchetman so I can turbocharge its axe into someone's face.

It's strange that your autocorrect didn't replace MASC with triple-strength myomer.

fair enough. the wolves were clanners with a ridiculous honor culture, what were the normal mercs' reasons for being successful enough to buy a small planet but never hanging up their spurs?

This was a very common thing in late medieval and early Renaissance militaries. Persons if common birth could join mercenary units and enjoy far greater freedoms and prosperity than was ever possible in their home communities. They were exempt from taxes, sumptuary laws, and could travel freely. They were also treated with respect by people of higher social stratas. If they left military life, they could expect to lose all of those benefits. Circumstances in the inner sphere can be very similar and it's not surprising that being a lifetime mercenary can be a valid, rational decision.

Hey did Stackpole ever finish that novella he was writing for the kickstarters or is that not happening? I keep remembering to check for the last bit every few months but jesus its' been a year now and I'm too lazy to dig up that backer kit login right now

Never mind, I thought I read the whole thing. Maybe I'm imagining things. I can't even figure out where the download page is at for it.

I will help kick start that game. You play Yang and have to try and fix the Commander's mech's from the current game and make it clear to him how much you need those Argo Power upgrades to do anything and why trying to replace the arm on a SLDF Highlander is NOT going to cut it with a leg from a Thunderbolt.

My kingdom for a developer that can incorporate melee into a Mechwarrior game.

It's such an important part of the game balance and flavor of Battletech, and yet no one has even tried to do it.

I R SMART LIKE ROCK posted:

Mech Engineer has some suggested mods:

https://github.com/McFistyBuns/CBTPiloting
https://github.com/McFistyBuns/CBTMovement
https://github.com/McFistyBuns/CBTHeat

Which seem to bring back some concepts from TT but someone else would need to speak to that. As I've never played megamek or TT. Though the piloting one does seem like the one you're looking for

This is my particular frustration with RT, in that there's a portion of the player base who does not know a lot of the mods in there existed before RT was formalized

I'm gonna give those a shot.
