Erpy posted:I'm still kinda puzzled why Falcom ended up creating an entirely new set of dialogue portraits for Schera while Olivier, who also changed his suit and hairdo, simply got slightly modified versions of his FC and SC expressions. Not that those could get any better. It's just weird to see Schera with a whole new set of facial features. When playing through this door, something clicked - they made a new sprite (or possibly reused an old one? I don't think they used these for the Luciola scenes though) for young Schera to reduce the size of the boob window. It was a jarring enough realization that I had to go back and make the side-by-side comparison. A second point that I'd never noticed until I was looking at the spritework: Boob window sizes in the character art are roughly the same. I had to go back to SC to grab the first image, but the sprite itself is the same. In a game with so much awesome art, it's a weird "mistake" for them to make. On a less BOOBS HURR note: OddObserver posted:Oh man, I totally missed the Dorothy stuff somehow. And that phonecall... I missed the Dorothy bits too, and it makes me sad. Dorothy is awesome. Edited: Okay, they did make a new sprite for Schera's new outfit. Shows how much I actually used her in the 3rd. Epsilon Moonshade fucked around with this message at 16:23 on Jul 4, 2017 |

Really Pants posted:The Chronicle is going to feel pretty silly when they realize only one of those three could be a number. Except it's a lovely little piece of misdirection. WE know the Enforcers use roman numerals, but I doubt that's common knowledge. Since the entries are numbered already, as "Theory 1" etc., that leaves the majority of people focusing on those and wondering what they mean. Of course, even among those who would know that the "X" is the number in question, what would they do with the info? As a master of disguise, I doubt that even his Bleublanc "look" is his original appearance. You've got a bit of trivia to build a profile on someone who's nuts in the first place. Bleublanc is extremely facepunchable in many ways, but I really do enjoy his riddles. Super Jay Mann posted:Pfft, look at some of you acting like any if those backstories were actually true and that Bleublanc isn't just screwing with everyone as per usual. I don't know. For all his faults, he's got a sense of fair play. I'm not saying he's not trolling, but the beauty of it (hurr) is that there's no way to know. Edit: Omobono posted:Care to elaborate if you have any idea? I have no clue how 10 could link to Bleublanc beyond B declaring "I'm an Enforcer, who cares about details like who I was before that" Just to be explicit about it, X = 10. Stabbey_the_Clown posted:It must be knowledge to many people because they introduce themselves with roman numerals and no one in the group goes "Huh, what do you mean you're Number Vee Eye Eye Eye?". Not even Estelle. Sorry, I meant that in the sense of "Bleublanc being "Enforcer Number X" rather than "Phantom Thief B."" In other words, the Ourbouros connection isn't common knowledge (I don't think.) Edit: Another thought I had in the shower: I doubt they're saying "X" literally, but "10" and the "X" is a stylistic choice that only really pops up in text. Do we even have an in-universe written example where they've referred to themselves like that? I kind of wonder if it's a translation thing in general, like how SpaceDrake said that Kevin's Kansai(?) accent was translated to sound kind of southern/Texan? I don't know enough Japanese to know for sure if this is even a thing, but a... more formal way of saying a number? That sounds silly now that I type it out, but who knows? Endorph posted:I'm pretty sure just about every one of the characters you fight in this sequence was in consideration for being a party member either in SC or this game. Phillip especially, he gets a lot of build-up for someone whose biggest contribution is slowing the enforces down for a couple of minutes. (Admittedly it's a really cool couple of minutes) That's the biggest and coolest contribution, but a bigger part of his arc (if you can call it that) is him being the protector and attendant to a certain (former?) man-child and the comedy that ensues. I suspect he hosed up at some point and this was a punishment. If anything, he'd have been a temporary party member like Julia, without actually showing up in the endgame.
