Low-effort tie-in ARG but with in-game rewards, give it a shot I guess. It's ongoing apparently, I was only able to solve the first two.

It would be neat if there was more loot. Most distillates I get from dungeons are only 250xp and a random weapon is 100 (250 if it matches) so gettin an item drop and a chance of a 3 pip item or a cool special effect is more interesting than a fungible ball of item XP. And, as always: dungeons should give XP.

Edit: You can get two item bags from like "kill 6 wisps" type mini-mission and that is a minimum of 200 item XP and a few thousand actual character XP.

On a separate note this crew has no idea about the lore for this game and they put the loving Blajini mole people and others into the reworked Agartha where they can't possibly be allowed. Also all the paths are now jump pads and yet Agartha is policed by massive Third Age robots that can no longer navigate Agartha.

Also it's a tree so big it would put out so much oxygen so as to make the Agarthan atmosphere flammable. What gives, Funcom?

The reason things eventually cost aurum instead of always being an equivalentish number of marks is to ensure specific points at which someone, somewhere, has to have had purchased aurum.

Maybe, it's just not runaway better. Quests can be pretty fast.

Glyphs seem rare otherwise, though I am level 42 and just starting Egypt. Good glyphs are also selling in the AH for thousands of Friendship Marks so there's all sorts of different values, ethics, and morals. It's a living!

The takeaway here is that playing the game is optimal.

PST posted:

Dungeons now have level ranges, and you can't go back to them if you've outlevelled the dungeon. So if, say, you didn't do the quest for Polaris, because you'd already done the dungeon and saw you weren't getting any xp, then when you level past, you'll be stuck unable to get the achievement for doing all the Orochi missions.

This might get fixed with elite dungeons and level 50, or Funcom will have it be a bug for 2 years.

You can queue as a "Private Team" and run dungeons you can't public queue for.

No, dungeon items are not special, they just have a signet built in which I guess is nice for now but signets will come down in price eventually and having a dungeon item instead of a free form may severely limit you in the long run unless it's something like my sword that gives extra chi on crit which will probably remain best in slot forever.

There is no such thing as synergies between weapons anymore. Every weapon is isolated and all passives are strictly for their corresponding weapon. The dumbest loving decision they made. Babies complained that the skill wheel was so loving mind blowing that they couldn't handle it so they dumbed down the entire system to be as braindead and safe as possible. They put so little thought into it that if you are using Rifle abilities but didn't slot a grenade ability you will just constantly explode for no reason. Also for reasons unknown we can only slot six actives and six passives now and force you to have a basic attack so your options are total poo poo.

Adding to this: You have a primary weapon and a secondary; you have to slot one 'basic' ability from your primary that doesn't use energy. Your secondary weapon gains energy at half the rate of your primary (which means it'd be nice to use a basic ability for your secondary, obviously).

This leads to plenty of trap options like using a sword as your secondary- you'd charge your chi sword slower/less often, have to slot an ability to activate it, and then have half the energy to actually attack with your spirit blade as you would with a sword as your primary. Maybe there's some value in letting your chi tick over into the self heal with sword as your secondary.

Dumb question time: what is "expertise rank" in the various weapons about? Does that mean that I can buy all the skills for a new weapon but I'll still be terrible at it because it wasn't what I used all the time before?

Every 50k xp you earn with a weapon equipped bumps its expertise rank up. It caps at 50 ranks which is like, 7% chance to crit and 50% crit damage I think.
