I've been bored and trying to avoid things, so I decided to go poke around at these magical new YouGov polls and projections ...

Thanks for these, they're excellent write ups and give a really good sense of how blunt national polling figures are. Has there been any published polling (even pre-GE) looking at ukip voters specifically since the referendum, or anywhere that tried to use the council elections to see where, if anywhere, their voters are going to,

11:30am voter reporting in. Glasgow Central. Polling station wasn't dead, but not busy—hope that it picks up at lunchtime. Voted for the jam man, even though it won't make a difference here because the SNP have fooled everyone into thinking they're some kind of socially progressive left party (Tartan Tories, anyone...?)

#allotmentsforeveryone

:respek: Glasgow Central representing. Voting Labour after work, but like you I don't see the SNP being shifted

Btw, a while back I asked if any Labour goons wanted to list their CLP affiliation in case new members etc wanted someone to talk to to get the local lie of the land. Here's the list:

feedmegin - Loughborough - but I'm only moving there at the end of the month so I know jack poo poo right now! Still happy to go for a pint and chat tho.
maugrim - Dulwich and West Norwood
Cast_no_shadow - Sheffield south east
Oh dear me - St Austell & Newquay

Plus one anonymous goon in Edinburgh Central who I'll point people at if they start being all Scottish itt.

Glasgow Southside - although my Westminster constituency is Glasgow Central

So I've just finished reading Flat Earth News and Hack Attack (can anyone recommend a replacement for my soon to be cancelled Sky subscription?) and it makes eye opening reading about what a cancer on democracy Rupert Murdoch and News Corp are.

Just about to start The Establishment by Owen Jones, are there any similar books out there?

All that is Solid: The Great Housing Disaster by Danny Dorling is a bit less journalistic and a bit more academic, but still really accessible and makes for fascinating (and depressing) reading
