R. Guyovich posted:it kind of owns that the greens' housing policy is East Germany Lite Yeah, I got Greens on housing. Feels good. Is there anything particularly anti-science about the Greens bar them not liking nuclear? Are they anti-vaccers or something? That'd be disappointing, but I really do think everyone in the thread is going overboard in their support for nuclear energy.

Wouldn't any Russian intervention more likely attack the Tories anyway? Wouldn't Corbyn's foreign policy of stopping arms deals with brutal dictatorships and plotting a more non-interventionist course be more amenable to Russia?

Do detectives and forensics teams really need to be part of a police force anyway? Surely the investigation arm of crime fighting and the enforcement arm can easily be separated into two distinct and differently structured bodies. hakimashou posted:Yeah didn't communists invent the police state since its instrumental for the kind of massive huge scale murder and crushing of dissent necessary to rob everyone of everything they own? Corbyn being a weird jam man is an attack?

# ¿ Jun 5, 2017 01:11 |

Namtab posted:Corbyn’s signature jam is understood to be apple and blackcurrant, a classic mix of sweetness and acid tartness, made from fruit grown at his north London plot. Apple and blackcurrant jam needs little help to achieve a perfect, gloopy set, as both fruits are high in pectin. I imagine this allows Corbyn to dial down the sugar, associated with profit and corporatist lobbying, for a more socialist spread. This is supported by his answer on his favourite biscuit, so I'd say you're spot on.

If a guy is running around with a knife then you should try to subdue him, at worst a pop shot in the leg to take him down. But if someone is in a bomb jacket then I dont know if they have much choice. The point is, that's not 'shoot to kill'. It's about extra-judicial killing, launching missions to murder criminals rather than arrest them.

I think people are putting the cart before the horse on the Australian compulsory voting = racism thing. It's exactly the same thing as wanting PR in the UK. Ukip would have had more seats last election, but it would have been more democratic. Australians are bigotted fuckwits. Compulsory voting allows a better democracy. Our democracy allows bigotted fuckwits to have power. If anything I'd imagine populist racism during campaigns would actually be a bit reduced from a hypothetical Australia that didn't have compulsory voting. The racists are going to show up anyway, you only need to make sure they vote for you, not stroke their cocks enough to get them enthused.
