Way to go Max Holloway.

Was there anything controversial last night?

The UFC would do well to promote all of their champions

It isn't like they are doing something better.

Or or or, and this is just speculation:

The UFC said they guarantee something and then DJ asked for a literal guarantee but none was forthcoming.

edit: it's almost like management wants him in the biggest money fight possible without paying him much.

Sweaty IT Nerd

It seems like the simple answer would be to put DJ on a card with another big(ger) fight. Why should he have to carry the card himself to make money?

Why should he get paid more for someone else drawing a bunch of people?

Why should Gunnar Nelson? It makes the card better if there is a title defense on it.

edit: Gunnar probably didn't make points. I'm not sure what mine is.

I unironically felt that Rasheed Wallace should get paid more than Tim Duncan because I always enjoyed Rasheed's antics more, like the time he got ejected from a game for glaring at an official.

I feel like it was that rear end in a top hat Joey Crawford that made that call. gently caress that ding dong right in the ear.

lmao @ anyone who doesn't completely blame UFC for the Mighty Mouse problem

Like, I get routinely hyped for people I don't care about solely because the UFC video and media teams are killer. Spend two MM fights hyping them through the roof and getting him + his opponents to talk a little poo poo and boom there you go.

I sincerely wonder if he is a real dickhead behind the scenes. He's smart enuff.

It seems overly simple but a lot of guys made "do not play guard for any reason and immediately scramble to stand up before you are even down" part of their game. Chuck and aldo spring to mind. But also, I can think of chuck being stuck in guard and getting smashed against rampage and aldo being unable to scramble against max without getting shitrocked

I remember Chuck talking about it in an interview. Rogan podcast? Anyway he says if you don't want to be on the ground it's always going to be easier to try to keep the momentum of the takedown to help you scramble to your feet than if you have to start from scratch. I don't train or anything but that always made sense to me.

Wow, Dana conveniently doesn't mention he's playing hardball with MMMDJMMJ over points.

"I refuse to pay you like a champion and you won't do what I want" is a less sympathetic argument I guess.

It would be great for Dana to keep paying bargain rates but to make the biggest fight possible. for sure.
