I knew before long they would shut everything down. Capitalist scum, but I repeat myself.

Bogan King posted:It took the ABC 4 agonisingly slow minutes to call the London attacks terrorism after official word was put out that it was in fact a terrorist attack. Imagine how much better the world would be if in fact they were just running their mouths off about what ever the gently caress they felt like instead of doing their job and reporting things as they become known. that's one of the shitteist things I've ever read

open24hours posted:Something I've always wondered about is why TV broadcasting licenses were (are, although it doesn't matter so much anymore) so restricted? Is it just to protect the existing channels from competition, or is there more to it? there is a technical limit to how much bandwidth there is to transmit on, but I don't know if that's all there is to it

the concept of 'middle class' has been so watered down over time by everyone in the comfortable working class saying they're 'middle class' it's just now more FYGM class warfare. Unless you're a consulting surgeon or are a partner of a law firm or own a chain of malls, and you can play golf all week and maybe take a few business calls stop calling yourself 'Middle class' and start hating the people with real money who continue pitting us all upon each other

ewe2 posted:There is a class structure: I would characterise it as the rich, the managerial class, the political class, the employed, the working poor, and everyone else in order of who looks down on who, and who gives the orders. Maybe we should classify full time and part time in that, but I tend to think part timers are working poor anyway. But upper, middle, and working divisions are just as useless today as white and blue collars. I was thinking along the same lines while eating lunch just now. I would maybe call the rich 'Owners' but I don't know if that's too muddying of the waters
