Random question. Are their any notable or worthwhile runs of Vampirella that are worth checking out? I saw 'Vampirella meets Kiss' (or something like that) at my LCS today, and it suddenly occurred to me that I've never really heard anyone discuss, well, anything about Vampirella outside of her costume. Surely with as long as she's been around, she's had a good run or two in there? Or has she always just been a cheesecake character with nothing really worthwhile to speak of?

I actually had no idea that Moore did a Vampirella run. Huh.

Lightning Lord posted:The Grant Morrison stuff is good. Also Kurt Busiek. I didn't know Morrison wrote stuff for her either. I'm just learning all sorts of things today, I guess. redbackground posted:I promise to write you an effort-post later tonight! I'm looking forward to it!

Calaveron posted:I mean, he was an 88 year old man with leukemia so it's not unexpected or something to curse the heavens about, but still it sucks. There's an episode where Batman and the Joker have a surfing competition. There's another where Batman and the Penguin run against each other for mayor (which inspired Batman Returns). The version of the Riddler from the show is what basically every version of him afterwards draws from. Batman '66 is rad and totally holds up, is what I'm saying.

Decius posted:I love how several posts poo poo on Don Rosa because of a shot of a text that nobody knows if it is even by Don Rosa, what the context is and what the reason is. If someone posts it on Reddit and then Fox News makes a story out of it we have the perfect fake news cycle. It is Rosa. He has that sign on his table every year at HeroesCon.

CapnAndy posted:Yeah, Spider-Gwen was a huge hit so they did a Gwen month of variant covers, and Gwenpool turned out to be ridiculously popular with cosplayers basically immediately, so Marvel figured they had something there and made an actual Gwenpool ongoing. Now they're doing the Mary Jane month of covers, so I guess they're hoping for lightning to strike twice?
