They could always just write more campaigns like the badab ones. Primaris don't inherently invalidate that type of book.
But I want Badab, not something "like Badab".

Well you can play your book that was released in the past with the models that were available for its release (which, shockingly, are still available and show no signs of going anywhere).
Can you be less condescending about this? You know what I mean.

I dont get what you want then? If you just want to use the old books, use the old books. You said you didn't even want something like it, i.e. not a remake of it so what do you want? Just use the marines you have.
All I was saying was that I don't see GW putting out new books for historical campaigns in the future because the primaris line won't be involved in any way. If (big IF) they phase out regular marines that's a certainty.

There are so many cool historical campaigns that won't be possible if they phase out the regular guys.

Y'all can relax a bit, it was just idle musing.

Just in case y'all aren't keeping up with the Hams for Hunger thread:

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Hedningen who had an idea on how to help promote this thread and encourage some more donations. He doesn't paint much, but he does sculpt and he volunteered to make a special plague doctor model exclusive to this thread/event. I have really appreciated all the effort he's put into this and, with the model complete and casting starting up, we are ready to make the announcement:

To keep it simple, anyone that makes a donation of at least $20 will qualify for a copy of this model. Limit one per person, please. PM or e-mail me your name/address and I will collect and send them on to Hedningen. Again, the e-mail is Hams4Hunger at gmail.com. He will handle the casting and shipping and is in the US Midwest somewhere. UK/Euro participants, don't worry, I've figured something out for y'all. I've got a friend in the UK that is willing to act as a go-between and forward your models to you.

Hedningen has already been working on getting a small stockpile going so let's get some donations in!

A $20 donation gets you a free model! Please donate to a charity of your choice, preferably a local food bank, homeless shelter, or something assisting with the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

A little update on the thread:
Things have gone much faster than I expected.  I have already hit my original $5000 limit, but in an effort to keep things going longer I have pledged another $2,000.  Goonhammer has also sponsored $500 and there are still almost $2000 in unfinished challenges.  Combine that all with existing donations and we are looking at over $10,000 in charitable contributions by the end of this.

I think since 8E all we've seen from FW that's exclusively 40k is the Marine Astraeus and that big Necron walker. Everything else has been 30k stuff that had some quick 40k rules typed up, like Custodes or a few AdMech units.

The 30k pace also seems to have slowed down a bit compared to a few years ago. I wonder if they sent a bunch of FW staff over to specialist games and didn't replace them.
Honestly, the 30k releases have been pretty consistent in the last year. At least up until COVID-19 and the subsequent shutdown. They were ramping up for the release of Book 9, after all, and we've still got more DA/NL units and the Lion coming. It's nothing like the Dark Times between books 7 and 8.

My guess is that FW hasn't reopened yet because GW needs all the manpower and production capacity to catch up with their plastic range.
