Death match guys have two ways to get over, either bleed and do gimmicky explosions and fire in relatively safe ways, or do crazy bumps that might kill you. Onita and Pogo took so few bumps at their peak, it is crazy. They just had to get a million stitches instead. Of course Pogo still suffered a broken neck.
