Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't that women's match make more sense as a six-pack elimination, not a gauntlet match?

No, I mean like.

If it was an elimination match, you can do all that stuff where Nia eliminates everybody, but Sasha's still there from the beginning so you don't have Babyface Sasha vulturing a win from Heel Nia who just went the distance.

I dunno, I don't feel any particular reason to watch the go-home show, tbh. I watched this week for Brock and Joe and was pleasantly surprised by most of the rest of the show but I can't think of any hooks for next week?

Preachin' to the choir. Splitting up Enzo and Cass right after turning Cesaro and Sheamus (which was also dumb) was, uh, dumb.

Raw needs faces so desperately in every area of the roster besides the women's division I guess where the problem is more just that three of the four faces are total garbage.

Just LOL if you think that Stephanie and her husband are going to run the company better than Vince

Look, I know you don't watch NXT, but there's two things about it that stick out above everything else.
1) The storytelling is simple, long-term and doesn't try to insult or outsmart the audience. It's just simple pro wrestling storytelling.
2) The wrestlers wrestle in the style that got them over on the outside.

There's a bunch of other stuff (championship matches always feel like a big deal, champions are kept very strong even if they're heels, sometimes the show will even start with a match and not a goddamn 20 minute promo, there's little to no 50/50 booking) but If just those two things hold over on when he gets control of the main roster, it'll get about a million times better.

Chris James 2 posted:

On the opposite end, he saw Reigns (a guy he likes and fully supports) struggling to get cheers and thought the solution was he needed a Better Heel to beat

So he got a Rumble win and a world title. And still couldn't put over Reigns enough that the fans loved him.

I mean logically, that checks out. I think he just underestimated how loving much the audience hated Reigns. Also, yeah, Wrestlemania had been pretty terrible up to that match, which didn't help.

HHH absolutely should have the biggest, most obnoxious entrance each year because in case you missed the point at Wrestlemania 30, the point was that HHH, the character is an insecure jackass who feels the need to make himself look like some kind of badass warrior king by giving himself the most ostentatious entrance possible. And then Daniel Bryan just walked out being Daniel Bryan and everybody loved him 10x more.

And at Wrestlemania 33, they essentially did the same thing with him coming down with a loving police escort, immediately followed by Seth symbolically burning all of his over the top poo poo down.

It's subtext, I tell you! SUBTEXT!

It looked like they'd get a push for five seconds after the Superstar Shakeup. They deserve credit for even sticking around that long.

They always struck me as dudes who are really good in the ring and try really hard to make the terrible gimmicks given to them work. That their one chance at a real push fizzled out pretty much instantly is proof that the brass ring doesn't exist.

It was essentially a squash match with the hope spot being sold as Roman totally having Lesnar beaten until that dastardly Rollins cashed in.

Roman is largely a proficient wrestler with a few good strengths (such as his aforementioned sense of timing) that will put out decently rated matches that no one will ever remember for positive reasons.

At the time the story was both guys were dead and it was any man's to win and Rollins came out.

Now the story is Roman was absolutely definitely going to win despite having just eaten a 4th F5.

The joke is more that Brock Lesnar is supposedly some kind of amazing carry-machine when he is in a match with Roman Reigns, and then an awful wrestler when facing Dean Ambrose (which, in fairness, he was that night). Seth Rollins' match was bad because Seth blows.

My issue is with the claim that "Roman had the only good singles match with Suplex City Lesnar". If we define Suplex City Lesnar as everything after Wrestlemania 30, one, that's not true, because it ignores two good Cena matches and two good Undertaker matches and frankly is a pretty egregious case of Always Bad-ing when Lesnar only got really insufferable in 2016 two, it's disingenuous because it's supposing that the match was good because of something Roman did that Brock's other opponents since late 2014 have all lacked, which just isn't true. Brock carried Roman to a good match at Wrestlemania 31 and then everything after that aside from the Undertaker matches was a combination of bad booking and in one case, Brock prioritizing UFC over WWE.

Like, pretending Roman/Lesnar was good because of Roman and Seth/Lesnar sucked because of Seth is just ridiculous.

Honestly I really want one more Cena/Lesnar match because as it is the story goes:
ER '12: Lesnar is dominant, but cocky. He plays around for too long, Cena gets the one punch he needs to win.
SS '14: Lesnar doesn't gently caress around, puts his boot up Cena's rear end, wins in dominant fashion.
NoC '14: Cena comes back with the Hustle, Loyalty and Respect, still gets his rear end whooped but almost manages to fight Lesnar evenly, Seth breaks it up.
RR '15: Lesnar pins Rollins, Cena isn't involved in the finish.

There's been no conclusion to that story and that's honestly kind of a huge shame. More to the point, they haven't had a match since Cena's renaissance and gently caress I wanna see PWG Cena vs. Lesnar.
