The Dark Crystal.

Loved it as a kid, had a picture book of it and everything including the VHS which was watched many a time. Even had a cat named Fizzgig back then. Saw it for the first time in about 30 years last year and found it to be long, boring, and dreadful.

That movie is so depressing, I'm glad I didn't watch it as a kid.

But for me it was Tron. I loved it, still do, but apparently everyone thinks it's poo poo? Come on guys, look at the Moebius design, how can you hate it? Who cares about story, have you never read Heavy Metal?

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. It is so terrible. Kevin Costner is horrible, and it's a huge indictment of the state of 90's cinema that he was the top leading man for a while.
Alan Rickman is just a fantastic guy though, guy just steals every scene.

Someone on AV Club wrote an article about rewatching it as an adult. Hadn't even remembered the rape scene, eww. How did my incredibly prudish parents let me watch this?!

I thought The Faculty was really cool, still think it should've gotten more attention. I liked that to defeat the aliens, you need to cook/deal drugs first.

Yes. Verehoven--a director known for three of the best Scifi satires ever made, which all feature fascist or vaguely fascist/corporatist governing bodies--wasn't aware of the immense Scifi subgenre of hard right and occasionally fascist "future military" porn and how to make fun of it.

Truly we cannot tell why he decides to make the decisions he does.

Ice Pirates, maybe. I saw the movie a lot as a kid and the last time I gave even some of it a watch was on TV some years ago and just the late 70s/early 80s supertacky SF vibe either makes it great or drags it down to the point of being cringey. I need to just rewatch it from start to finish to see how I feel about it today.

lol that was my favourite movie
