I read Heinlein's Starship Troopers as a kid. Watching the movie years later, they had changed so much stuff, I didn't even realize it was based on the book.

Starship Troopers the movie is at least coherent as a story, and doesn't try to take you on a wonderland of the author's repressed desires. Yes, it sucks, but Heinlein sucks more.
