Although when you do that it can't roll as an Ancient or Primal. As such, you'd turn need to reforge the new set item in the cube.

While I agree that the game could probably lose like 60% of the particle effects and still be a little busy, I've gotten used to it and kind of like it now.

If good means fun then yes.
If good means competitive on the global leaderboards (without exploits) then probably not.

That said, I literally haven't looked at the leaderboards once, but I saw Wolfcryer pushing into the mid-to-high 90s in an all Necro group at "only" ~1600 paragon last night; so you'll likely not exhaust the class potential any time soon.

All in all I'd rate the class as a little rough around the edges and not all sets were realized equally, but I don't regret spending :10bux: on it either. And that isn't even counting the two stash tabs.

Plus, giving Blizzard proof that they can monetize this game could might maybe possibly potentially lead to more expansion classes and also maybe some of the Chinese cosmetics and poo poo. But hopefully not any of the pay to win boosts like weekend double xp passes or whatever they have.

Eh, I'll defer to you then on how they are faring. Someone was commenting at one point that the Necro wasn't at a competitive advantage with Manald wiz/hammerdin but given what you say that must have been during the closed beta and I'm just remembering old/deprecated factoids.

Didn't Blizzard say at one point they wanted to deliver the Necro slightly over tuned? Either that or I am just confusing this with what they say about their intent for new Overwatch characters.

I don't know if I'll be playing this weekend or not yet, but I generally broadcast in LLJK for leech spots when I am not in a full group and a few others do as well. Only applies to PC-NA.

Mr. Radio Voice, aka Rhykker over on YouTube has some pretty newbie friendly guides to just specifically get you acclimated to all the things. I used his stuff to help get me caught back up to speed after having stopped playing immediately after the expansion dropped.

Maybe topping leaderboards but just getting into the bottom half is doable even casually, but you'll have to play to that goal with your play time.

Dameius

I did Season 9 as monk and got an early ancient shenlong set for my weapons which convinced me to do generator builds all season. Using the standard Innas 6/Rain 2 and Wolfcryer's Burning Monk builds I was able to get through the 70 threshold, but it was surprisingly glass canon for the lower DPS output compared to the real glass canon classes. ZDPS monk is always in demand though and now that armory is a thing it'll be easy to run both versions of your monk, so have at it.

There are multiple levels that you can play this game at, each with an unique approach/playstyle and pros/cons. None of them are better or worse than the others, but if you want to experience certain parts of the game you will basically need to play certain ways, especially in the time span of a single season.

Just have fun with whatever you want to do and know that there are other ways to enjoy the game if you get bored with what you are doing.

I say all this to give context to the following: I just found out that you can hold ctrl and mouse over an item on the ground to look at the item stats pop-up as if it were in your inventory.

I've been trying out the Inarius build that's at the top of icy veins at the moment and I can't seem to get it to work. It seems to me like the setup doesn't have a whole lot of built in survivability, though it could be a classic case of inferior gear. Any suggestions?

That build is specifically designed to be played in a four man group that spends the grift debuffing baddies and supporting DPS until the end, then it turns into Boss Killer mode and single target spams the boss the death.

Go with the Rath or Trag mage builds or the Ina corpse lance build.

I forget his name, but the guy who did D1 and D2 has done a few interviews where he talks about the direction they were going with D3 when Blizzard dissolved Blizzard North and took over the project. If you pair it with his 20 retrospective of Diablo 1, it feels like you can get a good sense of what could have been.

Basically don't concern yourself with primal's, if they happen they happen. You have to practically be botting 24/7 to get them.

Until that first primal drops there is always the thought in the back of my head that some how it is bugged or not really unlocked.

In typical fashion, since I complained so much about it, the game gave me five primals this weekend since that last post. One was useful and is identical to the only useful one I got last season, too.

I used Spectral Blade for that very purpose this season, you'll be fine. If you want, people have already done the legwork for you on converting it to a Manald Heal build so you can just pull one of the builds from one of the usual places and get to it.

My advice for boss rush is save A2 for last. Invariably the person in A5 gets bogged down in the poo poo map design and the faster player can stack a tp from their act plus a straight run to one of the A2 bosses. The A5 runner makes a tp then you just do the A2 boss first since that person already has a tp up for a different boss.

Did it that way with 3 people and we had something like close to 8ish minutes to spare.
