I was arguing with a friend about how we are especially susceptible since capitalism dictates that we have zero excess capacity anywhere and he was like “well yeah but other nations are the same way.”. so I looked it up, and we have 2.3 beds per 100k people. Italy has 3.3, and South Korea has 11. we are actually ranked 32nd in OECD nations in that metric. we are so hosed.
