drat, lp sniped, but ah well, makes my life easier. If people are interested in any of the artbook or prequel comic I can post some of it, along with various other arty bits I have lying around spare now. Don't want to be presumptuous, but if I can save you some work I will.

dscruffy1 posted:Dang, now I remember someone else had been interested in doing this. Slipped my mind. No worries, it would have been my first lp, so starting off with something less complex might be wise. The comic is a bit spoilery, it has character designs we've not seen yet, as well as covering Lucas winning the casino from Boone in a gambling match, and the casino losing money already so I might leave that till later. The artbook definitely has spoilers, but I was planning on cropping stuff out and showing only the people/things we've seen already, so I can do that here too if that's cool. For example, some Lafcadio Boone art, (laff-cah-dee-oh, it's Greek) I like the one on the left best, he looks more like priests you actually see in England, (where the game is ostensibly set despite the whole casino-mansion thing being about as American as you can get) though apart from the crossing himself when he hides Boone being a priest doesn't come up much anyway. And the mask looks more like the handprint was accidental, the one we ended up with he'd have just been wandering round with a blank white one all night if not for the murder and strange ladies and what-not. (If any of that's too spoilery for your tastes let me know and I'll delete it, same with any of the others in future) Graylien fucked around with this message at 11:11 on Jul 19, 2017 |

Lord_Magmar posted:See I personally assumed this was France, Spain or Italy. Which your point about actual priests still stands to be fair. The setting is vague, I only really know it's set in England from the dev diaries, and Cavalier Studios, the original guys are English, Tequila Works who came on a bit later to help with the art and publishing are Spanish, so the influence is there from both. More concept art, It's not as easy to see in-game, but Bloody Girl here is missing most of her skin... And some Sixpence. Graylien fucked around with this message at 14:52 on Jul 19, 2017 |

You can actually go back and save them again the exact same way if you want, you get a neat bonus scene, but yes, unless you want to spend the rest of eternity saving only two people you need to press on and leave them to their fate for a few cycles. If we're comparing games, I've always been reminded of Umineko, that might be partly to do with reading the lp at the time, but the looping time in a big mansion full of murders has that theme to it. Anyway, concept art The black and white picture in some of the art is from before TequilaWorks got involved and they decided to go with the current style, I think overall it works better for the game, but I do like the original character designs. Clay, not a lot to say about him, I like his wonky nose though, it has clearly been broken several times. And the 3d models. Graylien fucked around with this message at 14:27 on Jul 20, 2017 |

It is, though weirdly it's only her model that has the eye covers, all the mask art has holes. and the others just for consistency.

Aumanor posted:What's the noise that keps happening at 2:45 and 7:30 (in-game time) I think I heard it in the second video too. Also, are we supposed to know what that glass shattering at 4:15 is, or will we learn about that in the future? You hear all sorts of sounds, and all of them will be explained at some point, like the gunshot or the bell ringing we now know to be Sixpence and Willow's deaths. E: Art Apparently they were planning on a pirate thing for Willow? I'm not really sure why. Little 3D Willow And her mask. Graylien fucked around with this message at 23:17 on Jul 21, 2017 |

IMJack posted:Voodoo. The popular images of Caribbean voodoo and Caribbean piracy share a lot of visual themes. Neat, thanks, is there a real link? Or is it just that people went 'eh, same country close enough'? I live about as far from the sea as you can get in England, so my experiences with either are basically non-existent.

Gold Masks name, and Eleanor being the Marquis' fiancee rather than his wife are both things that didn't make it beyond the concept stage, at least GM's name isn't mentioned, I guess it could be Deuteronomy. Eleanor is definitely married though. Neither of them get any other art, so hey, who wants to see some of the hosed up paintings that have been lining the walls of this place? Well tough, here there are anyway.

My last concept art drop, but there's still the small prequel comic which came with the pre-order, so I'll post that after the bonus video. Lucas, and his stupid ponytail. All of Lafcadio's concept art now there's no more spoilers in it.

Glad to hear people enjoyed the art posts, I've certainly enjoyed the thread and reading everyone's speculation and analysis. Anyway, here's the last bonus; the origin comic that shows how Lucas and Lafcadio first met.

I don't know if they were friends then, it seemed more like this was how they met to me, but we don't get a lot of details, so interpretations can vary.
