Is a v good movie. I like the part when the guy asks Spider-Man to do a flip.

THAT BEING SAID, there are some weird things about it.

The New York in that movie is a very nice and happy place. Everyone is very friendly and even though the bully at Peter's school is kinda mean, he's on the Decathlon team, so he's not really that much of a bully. Also, we didn't really get to see any cool web swinging scenes because he was either in the suburbs or indoors or on a boat like the entire time.

The best sequence in that entire movie was the car ride to the dance and then Peter's eventual realization that he gotta do the right thing and stop the bad guy. poo poo like that is what made Spider-Man 2 so good. These movies are at their best when Peter is struggling to balance his real life with Spider-Man life.

thats what i thought

Spider-Man is the bad guy in that scenario because Donglover did nothing wrong and his ice cream was still gonna melt.

that was p funny, but it would've been nice to have at least one scene with him swinging from skyscrapers.

There's def gonna be a bunch of city swinging in the second one because I bet Ironman sold the building to Norman Osborn

I like it because instead of wasting 45 minutes on why Vulture is bad they do it in less than 5 and its still a good origin story.

I've not read a Spider-man coming in 15 years but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a suit like that and I could imagine hard core nerds sperging over it.

EDIT: I wish they could stop casting Anut May as people I would gently caress irl. I grew up with May being an old woman. You put Sally Field or Marisa Tomei up on the screen and I feel funny.

I liked the fact he wasn't really evil too, a nice change of pace. The only person he killed in the entire movie was a loving accident which is hilarious.

It's a funny movie and a lot of the humor is making fun of how stupid superhero movies are while also making all of the characters seem like actual human beings dealing with human emotions. The villain's motivation is providing for his family and petty revenge and acts more like a mafia boss than the standard turbohitler. It's pretty wild stuff for a Marvel movie.

I love Vulture's lines throughout the whole film which consist of "muh family" and "gotta fly".

I liked the vulture because his whole shtick about the powerful not caring about the poors until it's convenient for them is actually one of the movie's major themes and Peter ultimately agrees with him. In contrast, the previous Marvel villains that I'm aware of were more into gargling alien noises or blowing up the planet.

I really want to see this because it seems like a very down-to-earth grounded movie by Spider-Man standards, which seems sweet to me. The whole point of Peter Parker as a character is him being a normal person who happens to have superhuman abilities and Homecoming seems like it actually gets that for once. The villain being an ordinary guy and not cartoon bad guy dude who wants to murder everyone seems great too.

Zendaya is really hot too.

Wry and wise,
but also very sexual.

my thoughts are:
1. spider man is basically a class traitor, who the heck gives a poo poo if some atms get knocked over, not even the banks care. if the crimtech is good enough that they're more efficent, that is better. if peter didn't step in and gently caress that up then the deli would have been fine.

2. it was genius having the gf's dad be the bad guy, because spiderman is about puberty! of course, the #1 enemy is your gf's dad, he's trying to stop you from loving his girl and things are the most awkward at all times. he's the final boss of getting some

3. after iron man took the suit back spidey should have ganked some alien tech of his own self and made it even better and so iron man is like drat son that suit is bitching i'm proud of you now i'm going to gently caress your aunt

For real. The Vulture is the lamest of the classic Ditko villains (and that list includes Kraven, Mysterio, and Shocker), yet in this movie he was loving awesome. Not only that but the concept was only possible because of prior MCU movies. That's how you use worldbuilding to work for your story instead of just giving fanboys handjobs. Not that there weren't plenty of handjobs in the movie.

E-- Oh and mad mad props for the mid-credits scene where Mac Gargan (Scorpion) sidles up to Keaton and gives a Sinister Six tease with all the cliche you've come to expect, and Keaton basically looks into the camera and goes " gently caress no" and walks past him to visit his family. Classiest middle finger to superfans I've ever seen.

I saw it twice too :shobon:
I think the opening sequence with Peter's short film is adorable, it's immediately endearing to the character and also not a bad job of getting all the Civil War bullshit out of the way in five minutes.

I thought it was one of the better MCU movies because despite them talking about The Avengers or whatever it's still pretty small time. The bad guy is like, a guy that steals poo poo and sells weapons. Not Ultron loving exploding a city or something

Michael Keaton stole every scene he was in tho :hellyeah:
