PSO2 English Database Visiphone wiki http://pso2.swiki.jp/ probably the best database right now, but it's all in Japanese http://pso2es.swiki.jp/ Japanese database for the mobile game Phantasy Star Online 2 is the 3rd main game in SEGA's Sci-Fi Online Action RPG Franchise, converted from a single-player Turn-Based RPG series from the Master Drive / Genesis era. This game is free to download and play Gameplay The PSO series is known for being a lot more action-oriented than other Online RPGs; here you are not furiously right-clicking on enemies as fast as your character's attack speed stat would allow, hoping the enemy life bar depletes before your own, but rhythmically timing your button presses, and actively dodging or blocking enemy attacks. While this entry into the series was developed primarily for PC, it lends itself to play just as easily with a controller as with a mouse and keyboard; where the latter only has the advantage in menu shortcuts and using the subpallet (quickbar). Parties and Multi-Parties A normal party consists of 4 people, but most of the quests in the game have "Multi-Party Areas" where up to 12 players from multiple parties can play alongside each other. Mags Mags, for those not familiar with PSO, are little floating companion robots that you can feed weapons and items to. As you feed it, it gains stats that are in turn passed onto your character. As your Mag levels up, it begins to evolve new functions like occasionally attacking an enemy for you, or healing and buffing you and so on. Eventually your mag can produce a Photon Blast, a powerful attack that can be chained onto other player's PBs to increase their damage or effects. You only get one free mag per character, so be careful what you feed it! Races: Human The original race, creators of the CASTs and Newmans, they are more well rounded statistically. Newman Initially created by Humans as a forced next step of evolution, although really intelligent they came out rather physically frail, but now they co-exist peacefully with the rest of the ARKS. Basically space-elves. CASTs Some CASTs were created as Androids, while others are Humans who were too frail to use their photonic abilities without augmentation. While physically strong, they are not the best using Techs. Basically wow cool robots. Dewman Some scientists took weird dragon fossils and jammed them into people for some reason; this resulted in the most anime race of them all. They are good at all offense, Racial/Gender stat modifiers: code:
Classes: After you create your character, you can change your class anytime you are in the lobby at the class counter for no charge. Hunter Hunters use large, slow weapons that hit hard or have good AoE. Hunters can use Swords, Partisans (spears) Wired Lances (think God of War meets Sonic Unleashed) Hunter's skills boost striking damage primarily, but also can give a hearty boost to shooting damage. Meanwhile, Hunter also has a good amount of skills that boost your surviveability too! Overall Hunter makes a good subclass to almost any class Ideal Subclass: Ranger Rangers are a range-damage class that has a wide array of tools and ammunition for their weapons. Rangers have access to Assault Rifles, and Launchers Ranger is about precise attacks with your assault rifle while using your launcher to clear out the crowds. Most of Ranger's skills only work with Shooting damage, so they don't make that good of a subclass to anything that deals primarily striking or tech damage. Ideal Subclass: Force Forces are typical mages who wield Technics (Spells) to deal elemental damage and inflict nasty status effects in the process. Forces can use Rods and Talis (throwing cards that change how some techs behave). Force is the Go-to class for dealing damage with Techs. Most of their skills only work with Tech damage, so all it adds as a subclass is that you can act like a less-good Force. Ideal Subclass: Braver Bravers wield the most Honorable Katanas and "Bullet Bows" in battle, giving them a fair amount of versatility to attack from any range. Braver's skills include general damage boosts when you attack enemy weaknesses, and special active skills for Katana and Bows. Braver lacks a generic Just Attack boost that isn't tied to their primary weapons, unlike hunter and fighter, so it's application as a subclass is limited. Katana-focused or hybrid Subclass: Bow-focused Subclass: Bouncer Bouncer is a melee/magic hybrid class that uses Dual Blades and Jet Boots. Blades shred enemies to pieces, while boots are versitile and offer a lot of utility. Bouncer has the same problems when used as a subclass that Braver has, in that most of the time Hunter or Fighter are simply better choices. Ideal Subclasses: Summoner Summoners command their pets on the battlefield via their Tacts (conductor's baton). The Pets are more of the weapon types of the class than the baton, and they are adding new pets every so often! In most cases, Summoner doesn't make that good of a subclass. Though with the right Tact, you could use it to level up the classes you use for your Summoner subclass. Ideal Subclasses: These classes are not available from character creation, but you can change to them as soon as you reach the lobby: Fighter Fighters are a melee class that focuses on speed, skill, and maneuverability. Fighters can use Twin Daggers, Doublesabers, & Knuckles Main class Fighters tend to focus on attacking the enemy from the front with Brave Stance, and use their Limit Break skill to push their damage even further beyond! As a subclass, Most of fighter's skills work with all damage types; making it very versatile in this regard. Ideal Subclass: Gunner Gunners use their Twin Mechineguns to do crazy john-woo style action stuff. Gunners also have access to Assault Rifles as their Mechguns are more medium-short ranged weapons. Gunner's skills work really well for TMGs, but have limited use on other ranged weapons. Ideal Subclass: Techer Techers are front-line support mages. Their Wands can deal a tech-based explosion in melee combat, but can also use Talis if they need to. While wand-explosions are pretty great for fighting groups of enemies, they have trouble fighting bosses on their own. Techers usually have to rely on something that their subclass gives them access to in order to fight bosses. Bonk-focused Subclass: (sacrifices tech damage) Not-Force Subclass: (sacrifices wand explosion damage) Summoner-but-with-better-buffs-subclass: (is basically just summoner) Spellswording Subclasses: (get a subclass that can do both) New for Episode 5... Hero Hero is PSO2's first true Advanced Class, and uses Swords, Twin Machineguns, and Talis in brand new ways! Requires Level 75 Hu, Fi, or Bo, Level 75 of Ra, Gu, or Br, and Level 75 of Fo, Te, or Su to unlock; the unlock is title-based, so you can do this across multiple characters if you want to. Hero uses completely different Photon arts for it's weapons, with one of it's primary mechanics being PAs that will change which one you have equipped. While you could focus on a single weapon with Hero, it will truely shine when you learn to use all three. Hero cannot be use, or be used as, a subclass. After what happened with the PSU I just can't trust them to run separate regional servers. And since both the Taiwanese and Southeast Aisa PSO2 servers are both completely shut down now; after starting in Episode 2 content and never actually reaching Episode 3, I can only see the same fate for any other regional PSO2 server that may happen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nJPNtJmIEs&t=60s http://www.bumped.org/psublog/unleash-the-darkness-within-through-the-power-of-the-dark-blast/ here comes the dark blast update I'm betting the Omega Hunar emergency buster quest is going to be a trainwreck; The dark blast weapon collection files might work on super hard, since the enemies will be level 75 there, so people might wind up skipping extra hard for a while just to run super hard for consistent clears. Extra hard is going to require 80/80, so whenever people do feel comfortable running extra hard (even if people stick to XH right out of the gate anyway) I take it that super hard will turn into a twisted hellscape of failed runs. Also since they said the file weapons here are related to Dark Blasts, I doubt people will be interested in doing the files much beyond just grabbing a single copy of the gunslash depending on what it does to them, unless you need a weapon of one of those types or the SAF is really good.

http://www.bumped.org/psublog/pso2-station-13-recap/ Dev stream from this morning: first off they are doing extra stuff for next week's +100% EXP and RDR boosts: quote:Enemy Boost Week (10/18 ~ 10/25) (On top of the +100% EXP & Rare Drop Boosts) November's first update will start a collab event with a Japanese gaming website/magazine "Dengeki! Polytan Carnival" it'll work like last year's Famitsu Cup event. there's an EQ and you get an exchange item from it, you can use it to get stuff from an exchange shop. There will be a full set of collection files associated with the EQ; going to have to wait and see what those weapons do though. AC Scratch will have "Vehicle" themed outfits and parts. the men's layer wear is basically something from Kamen Rider Late November update: Dead or Alive 5 collab AC Scratch, also some cast parts from Phantasy Star Nova The regular Buster Quests will be updated to have Omega Darkers, and occasional Omega Hunars. Buster Medal As will be retired for Buster Medal Bs. Be sure to spend your Medal As before November 22nd! Finally, they gave us a roadmap for what's ahead: quote:December: I forget what those quest types mean; I think "Breakthrough" was used to describe the 5th anniversary quests though. the enchanted forest area looks more like an area I would expect to see from this game, kinda wish the buster quest fields were more colorful like that

right also I still am not 100% on headcount for the EQ trigger party thing on Saturday, if we are even doing it on Saturday or if there was a better day for some people like Sunday maybe, or even what time we were going to get together. I think some people might have talked about it on discord while I was asleep or away or something, but I must have missed it or something. Maybe post here about if you can make it or what times are good for you, if you got friends it'll be fine to invite them, but if we get too many people team members will take priority. I got like three deus triggers, and at least one white day and valentines trigger still; and I'm sure some of the other people playing regularly got a stock of EQ triggers to use as well, so don't worry too much if you don't have an EQ trigger to contribute. There's a good chance we might not even get to use them all. oh yeah also Profound Invasion triggers are not boosted like the EQ ones this week for no good reason, so don't bother buying those.

really, everything can get from point A to point B quickly enough without having to rely on macros or something; and we were basically splitting hairs here. my biggest advice is giving everything a chance for a bit to see what you actually enjoy playing the most; though you can't really do that for Hero since it's locked behind getting three classes to 75. Getting hunter leveled up is always a good idea because basically every class wants to use it as a subclass, except force and summoner anyway

Oh right there was a dev stream a week ago and I was going to mention it here but kept forgetting http://www.bumped.org/psublog/pso2-station-16-recap/ Early February update is the standard annual Valentines stuff: Event NPCs, Client Orders, Emergency Quest Like last year, the Event NPCs will have some kind of interaction with the White Day NPCs if you clear all of their client orders There will also be the Valentines Emperappy: The Chocolate Boy Pink Rappy Suit Mini can drop; like Rappy Suit Mini, you can use accessories on it Valentines File weapons will cover Bow, Dual Blades, and Rod; they will also support the Super Ability system. If I am right about the data in the files right now, their potentials should be 20% pp cost reduction and 5% unconditional damage; while this looks terrible, I assume they mean for you to pile on damage-boosting super abilities to compensate. The quest will also drop Val weapons with new Super Abilities as well; (what's left in the files is S2: 7% damage reduction, S2: 3% TAJA Damage boost, S2: Boosted pp regen while sheathed, could be any or all of these) so I assume they are going to want everybody using at least val weapons eventually, given how low many of them are getting in price... On top of that stuff, the Limited Quest will cycle out from The Enchanted Forest to a Not-buster quest, where you just kill enemies on your way to beat up a devil castle 8-player MPA, Omega Hunar -could- appear, and the Arm unit version of Welia Bode will drop (Arm / Hang Bode) The 2018 badge exchange will also update with a new lobby action and the right-arm heavy gatling accessory Late February will let you change the colors of your Dark Blast, a host of various system updates, and some more buffs to non-hero classes (the top section of this post: http://www.bumped.org/psublog/pso2-station-15-recap/ ) Also there is a special Virtual On collab in the Battle Arena, a bunch of V-ON outfits and weapon camos will be put into the Battle Scratch; and the arena will let you use Ride Slasher swords and End Attract rifles to enhance the v-on experience I guess In Late March, they are removing EP1-3 mode, and the Matterboards with it! if you want to get all of the titles associated with matterboard completion, you have until then to do so! I assume now that they got the Omnibus mode covering EP 1 to 3, they can stop hiding the matterboards under the carpet and just nix them altogether End of stream teaser: Omega Falz Loser coming in spring! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhHAZNxK1tE Like Omega Hunar, it kinda looks like an Ultimate-mode Loser, so I'm pretty excited for it; even if everybody else is just calling it lazy all of these events are kinda holding up the ep5 plot though; so I can see why people are getting a bit antsy about stuff like this. EDIT: oh right tonight's update just adds a Rematch to Etherion Dragon: http://www.bumped.org/psublog/fight-the-evil-dragon-atrum-by-moonlight-in-a-new-rematch-quest/ 4-players only, 80/80 reqirement, quest failure on 3 allied deaths, Atrum has ~10% more atk than Etherion, there is only one Laconium Sword, Chronos Time Stones can drop, but allegedly at about the same rate as other 14★ weapons NextTime000 fucked around with this message at 18:15 on Jan 23, 2018 |

you probably want to run whatever quests you just unlocked, and whenever Koffie has new client orders, you should probably do those too. The Arks Road thing should also show you what you need to look at too; but it gets a little unintuitive when it gets to the crafting section, because it just points you to one of the block-changing teleporters to tell you to go to your room to do this stuff, but it wont show you where you need to go once you are in your room.

http://www.bumped.org/psublog/pso2-station-17-recap/ Early March update is basically just AC Scratch and White Day stuff Late March update has some new Extreme Quests (the same quest, but with party and solo modes), and bunch of minor features for Premium users They are starting up a thing to make the Episode 4 14* weapons more available; increased droprates across the board, and various EQs and Campaigns will give out a new rock you can exchange for them if you manage to not find the one you want before you amass 500 of these rocks. this is cool and all but I feel like we need some content where we actually need that amount of power to be the norm... Also the [Loser] Dark Blast form will be coming out in April https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hw6cm2-brU

atrum's difficulty feels more like a skill-check than a gear-check; not that I think the whole "you get hit once and you are basically dead or about to be dead (unless you got automate) and you can only slip up three times" is a good skill check; its a bad one, but the opportunities you get to actually whale on him without fear that he could just gently caress off to the other side of the map at any moment are pretty few. like I would call Deus more of a gear check; yeah he's mostly untargetable until after one of the two attacks that ends with him giving you an opening, but he does that a lot more often than you get to attack dragon's head

The monthly PSO2 Station/Developer stream was this morning, here's the recap from bumped.org: http://www.bumped.org/psublog/pso2-station-18-recap/ Mid-April update: AC Scratch: RE:Zero collab, with a couple outfits from Phantasy Star Universe/PSP2i tossed in for good measure Emergency Quest: Omega Falz Loser Luther got Back on His Bullshit and now we gotta clean up after him. Omega Loser will mix things up by changing what speed-mode he's using mid-attack Omega Loser will feature a new Collection File for a themed set of weapons that I assume will work like the Detonation weapons: Loser themed, they build the Dark Blast meter 20% faster, boosted damage as the meter fills, and extends the time of the Loser Dark Blast when you use it with one of these weapons equipped. Weapons cover Partisan, Jet Boots, Talis, Katana, and Gunslash; unknown how these weapons will cover fighter, ranger, gunner, and summoner through off-class equips. New 14★ weapons from Big Bird are a Dagger (that already exist as a 13★ Jet Boot), Talis (looks like Prophets of Motav NT to me...), Launcher (which looks like a recolor of the Yasminkov 4000F that hasn't been in the game for even a year yet), and another Dual Blade (looks like an original design, similar to the Partisan and Boots that Etherion Dragon drops) Speaking of the Loser Dark Blast, that'll go in with this update too. Compared to the brawler Elder Blast, Loser Blast will focus on aerial maneuvering and long-range attacks. Late April update: AC Scratch: Item Design Winners 5 Side A: the first half of the winners from the 5th Anniversary's Item Design contest are going in. Easter Event: The Bingo Card this time will feature an item you can exchange to the new ARKS Handbook NPC Leontina to get a free Ray-series weapon; 60% light, and pre-ground to +30 so new/returning players can use it right away! Endgame players can get a bunch more Ray weapons from the 2018 Badge exchange shop so they can finish the weapon and put Astral Soul on something else without needing the resources to grind the weapon as much. The new Easter EQ is set in Las Vegas: Deus ESC-A has risen, and that's a problem we gotta fix. Easter Files seem to be recolors of a few of the weapons from Las Vegas; but it is currently unknown if they will use similar potentials to their older versions... only covers Dual Blades, TMGs, Rod, and Wand, with a whole bunch of egg files for Summoners! The quest itself can also drop the Red Rappy Suit Mini, and a 14★ Wired Lance??? Also they remembered they forgot to add the Kuron Advanced Quest, so they'll have an ARKS Rally Boost thing to go with it, dropping the Alta-series talis to complete the series that the previous two rally boosts started with a sword and tmg. New Roadmap: Finally, it seems like the Switch release (on april 4th) might have been why they have been so tight-lipped about the roadmap since November or something, since they now finally gave us a new one with somewhat more detailed layout that we're used to. Early Summer Level 85 Cap for Standard Classes New Skill, PA, and Technics Enchanted Forest for Omega Added new enemies EP5 Chapter 4 New Collaboration Live Event New Collaboration Scratch Summer PSO2 6th Anniversary WEB Event Event Limited Quest New 12 Player Raid Boss Emergency Quest New Dark Blast Form Dark Blast Semi-Transparent Implementation New 12 Player Mother & Deus Emergency Quest As the roadmap states, the May updates seem like they are adding the Enchanted Forest as a permanent free field, but it'll feature new enemies like "Omega Gryphon" (its a smaller gal gryphon but with a more traditional eagle's face), a worm rider, and Totally Not Devilman (maybe Omega Angel too I guess). Also, it looks like we'll be running into a "new version" of an enemy we missed out in episode 1 through 3... http://www.bumped.org/psublog/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Appre-omega.jpg (its the humanoid form of Apprentice)
