Has Round The Twist aged well?
Uhh....

There was also an episode when one of the male characters pissed on tree and got pregnant.
Australian shows got weird.

I think at least some of the episodes of Round the Twist may have been based of the books of Paul Jennings - at least the Gross-people-out-with-raisins-on-a-Flyswatter episode was one of the tricks that the character in those books went through
The first two seasons were actually written by him. He left after the second season, rights and all so they had to come up with their own stories.

I like how All Star is more known because of Shrek than the movie it was made for, or at least the movie that featured in it's music video.

Mass Effect is one of the most egregious examples of the late 00s-early 10s obsession with morality systems and choice, but the choice is very shallow, between good and evil.

Once you've made a few choices to be good or evil, you pretty much have to stick with it, as you build a meter in either direction over the course of the game and you won't fill either enough if you alternate between paragon and renegade. It also doesn't make sense narratively to alternate between choice types since, Shep just comes off as psychotically insane as he/she alternates between bro-hugging or mercing various side characters.
Well apart from this Renegade action in 2. Why would you never take that option even as Paragon?

Its really amazing how every character in disenchantment is a lame clone of a futurama character. Bean is just Leela, Elfo is just a creepy fry, and Luci is just Bender but without a personality. The only character that is actually entertaining is the king.

Also, yeah there is way too much focus on the main plot. The show would probably work better if there were more standalone episodes. The world is too silly and inconsistent for me to care when it tries to do serious drama.
Too much and not enough. If you're going to have a Main Plot, actually loving tell it instead of 1 episode at the start of the season and 2 episodes at the end of the season.

lots to chew on here, but what's especially funny about this is that girl boss peach isn't remotely a new thing. she was a playable character in smb2, had her own title with super princess peach, and repeatedly saved the mario bros. in every single one of the 90s cartoons.
Yeah the game where you touch the screen to change her emotions at will (for the most part). Ok sure they worked in solid cartoon logic way, like Cry on a plant to make it grow, Rage to break through stuff but like why not make it Luigi? The game was pretty decent aside from that.
They did call it Vibes though and this was back in 05. When did Vibe check and Vibes become a cool term?

My wife and I have started turning on Game Show Network at lunchtime just for background noise, and “Deal or No Deal” was a loving garbage fire.

We’ve got hits like:
  • Making 26 women stand around as eye candy
  • Contestants trying to flirt with the women
  • Making fun of contestants - notable examples include poking fun at unusual names, suggesting people with southern accents are stupid, and fat shaming (a contestant of size was offered a free car, but they brought out a Smart car, and said he could only have it if he could fit in the car and shut the door - the guy was also a creepy flirt though, so…)
  • Bizarre excuses to dress the women up in skimpy nurse outfits, bikinis, etc.

But on top of all that - because there’s literally no skill to play “Deal or No Deal”, contestants were often chosen based on how much empathy they inspire. Plenty of people down on their luck. So you, the audience, are often literally watching someone decide whether or not they’ll take a deal that could meaningfully improve their life, or give it up for the chance to make more money than they might ever hope to earn.

That gross sort of financial voyeurism seems to have made a comeback on the million-dollar-plinko “The Wall.”
Come to Australia, we have 2222 episodes of it.
Two thousand, two hundred and twenty two.
