katkillad2 posted:I think I'm ok with DLC as long as the story part is significant. I'm certainly not going to day 1 purchase the DLC like I did for BotW though. Same, I'll wait to see how much I enjoy the game and whether I'm dying for more content or pleased with what was in there. No need to buy a season pass for a few weapons.

What video games do you even like? Challenges are actually pretty engaging/challenging and the Rabbid Kong fight was more fun than I was expecting after the videos.

Supercar Gautier posted:I just beat the world 2 boss. Apparently a perfect score means beating it within 10 turns. I, uh... I took more than that. I kind of wish you knew ahead of time. The only missions I've come anywhere close to the limit so far have been the Toad escorts and those are prety much "move Toad the max distance every turn".

If you ignore the big guys and just burn the boss down while kiting anything else you do it in 9 easily. Make sure to use Peach's team jump shot refresh.

I don't remember doing anything special beyond putting Luigi on the high ground to the left while sending Mario and Rabbid Luigi to dash and stomp everything on the ground.

TFRazorsaw posted:Well, they destroyed Luigi before he could even REACH the high ground for one. But Sandy's consistently lighting everyone on fire and destroying cover quickly and I just dunno what to do. How? He gets there turn one with Itchy feet and a team jump. Just burn Sandy down first then.

TFRazorsaw posted:I guess I'll try that. I didn't think to use his movement option. You can get Luigi pretty much anywhere turn 1 with itchy feet and/or double team jump. Move teammate 1 to the max range, have teammate 2 go to them and team jump the max range, then Luigi double team jumps. If there is high ground, he will get there turn 1. The only downside to using Itchy Feet is that you can't overwatch when you get to the highground.

Happy Noodle Boy posted:Not getting perfects because I take my sweet time killing everything is annoying but it’s also forcing me to really look deeper into the movement system and just how far you can move/jump in one turn. You must be ignoring dash attacks and team jumps entirely - the turn counters are incredibly generous for perfects. e; at least into the beginning of world 3. The Toad escorts require you to move Toad the full distance every turn with time for 1 delay, and the world 2 boss requires you to ignore the Sloshers in order to make it in time. Otherwise nothing has been close. Nephzinho fucked around with this message at 17:57 on Aug 30, 2017 |

mandatory lesbian posted:I like this game a lot! Just curious tho, by doing the challenges as soon as they're unlocked, I'm not screwing future party members out of skill orbs, am I? Nope, they're unlocked for everyone. If you're going to do the challenges you should do them in real time because they generally assume you have the characters available at that point and roughly the gear that unlocks at the end of the chapter - going back later lets you cakewalk anything combat based.

Lakbay posted:I'm not obsessively trying to get Perfect on each battle, should I be pickier with my weapon purchases or do you get more coins as the game goes on? I just finished world 1 I think the only map so far where you might not get a perfect without trying is the world 2 boss. Everything is pretty forgiving.

Beelzebozo posted:Weird issue. Can somebody else test this? I've been playing this game docked with a Pro Controller like I do with 99% of my Switch time, but now I'm on the way to my mother-in-law's with my wife driving. It's 5 hours so I thought I'd take Mario+Rabbids with me. I kinda hate the Joy-Con so I brought my Pro Controller as well. I have the Switch in my lap. The Pro is connected and working fine in the system menus, but when I go into the game it goes dead. The Joy-Con still work but not the Pro Controller. I have three cart Switch games (including this one) and four digital downloads, and this is the only game that behaves this way. Does this particular game not support Pro Controller in "tabletop" mode for some reason? Your joycons are connected to the system, aren't they.

Stepped away from the game for the weekend, coming back to the world 4 midboss. As I start planning out the week's gaming time, looking at the challenges they do really seem to be gear dependent so that wolrd 1-2-3 challenges should be a cakewalk, I have hated exploration thusfar and won't bother with 100%'ing -- are there any post-game extra hard bosses? Are the secret worlds worth doing or is having endgame gear going to make them dull? Are there "ultimate weapons"? Really not sure what kind ofpost-game content there is if the challenges and secrets were meant to be played in sequence, and if so why they wouldn't have just made them into levels.

Bloodly posted:I've seen at least one run-through that set it up such that as the phase changed, Overwatches were active, thus dealing significant damage to the new phase before any defences or such were fully in place. That lets you skip a lot of the final phase. I missed it by a turn on my first clear and i "wasted" a turn clearing the smashers that could have been fairly easily kited.
