In any city, in any country, go to any government institution or customs house you can get yourself to. When you reach the front desk, ask to visit someone who calls themselves "The Holder of the End". Should a look of child-like fear come over the worker's face, you will then be taken to a cell in the building. It will be in a deep hidden section of the building. All you will hear is the sound of someone talking to themselves echo the halls. It is in a language that you will not understand, but your very soul will feel unspeakable fear. Should the talking stop at any time, STOP and quickly say aloud, "Mass migration and terrorism are but two examples of the challenges to our shared European interests and values that we can only solve in partnership." AND THEN A BREXIT POPS OUT Welcome to the spookiest UKMT yet, where the mass hysteria of past glory is cast asunder under the heat of basic scrutiny, and the folly of mortal affairs is laid bare before the alien demands to have something we can work with, please, it's been like a year and a half. In The News • An 18 year old attempts to use a plastic bucket as a pressure vessel, which works about as well as expected. • A 59 year old attempts to use a long string of platitudes as a negotiations proposal, which works about as well as expected. • MPs back the EU Withdrawal Bill by 326 to 290, which if passed unamended will grant almost absolute power to the executive. • TfL suspends minicab licences for ULL, a London firm operating through the Uber rideshare system. They'll probably get them back when they stop covering for rapists. • Other London actually-we're-not-a-minicab-firm Addison Lee gets told that its workers are not 'self-employed' by a court. • John McDonnell pledges to bring 'scandalous' PFI contracts back in-house. • For the first time, a majority (53%) of adults in the UK describe themselves as non-religious. Intersection with Remain/Leave unknown. • An Israeli-American human rights activist delivers a speech to Labour fringe group Jewish Voice for Labour, in which he suggests that people might have views on the Holocaust, but we shouldn't give a platform to any racists. This gets reported as "Labour antisemitism scandal." • The director of advocacy group Cage is found guilty of obstructing police after not giving passwords to devices at Heathrow, because they contained sensitive information about an international torture case. An officer states under oath that this was not a random search. The difference between this and the other times he was stopped? Maybe that the alleged torturers in this case were the USA. • You have two weeks to get rid of any round pounds you still have. goddamnedtwisto's spooky action at a distance In which goddamnedtwisto writes at length about internet porn, obscenity, and spaghetti bolognese. Apologies in advance if this was posted in the last few pages of the September thread, I'm knackered and want to go to bed. Second apology for this coming from the Sun but anyway... Private security guards from G4S and Serco could ‘be handed power to make arrests. This is worrying. quote:Employees of security giants like G4S or Serco would be able to detain people for failing to pay court fines or breaching community penalties. PRIVATE security giants could be handed the power to make arrests for the first time.

Following on from last month, Miftan is right, new Propagandhi record is a belter. Can't be many bands on the go for over 25 years but keep getting better, some how those plucky Canuck anarchists have done it. Failed Imagineer in particular I already listened to some 50 times before the album dropped and still love it. As far as politically good music, now I'm stuck waiting for a new Coup album, but Boots seems busy doing other stuff for now

The BBC has published a guide for people wanting to buy a house by the age of 25. Here are the top tips based on the four 'examples'! - Be a couple. Nobody who is single gets a house. - Both work full time. Nobody with children gets a house. - Have a combined income of nearly £40k at least. Save religiously and skip things like holidays/socialising. - Ideally live with your parents (one couple). - Rely on the Help to Buy mortgage scheme (two couples). By the way this ended in December. And finally, make sure you live somewhere cheap. All four houses were bought for way below the average house price, and two for only £125,000. Seriously, how the gently caress can an outfit like the BBC publish this shite with a straight face?

First, with the Tories in so much trouble, does he think Corbyn can become prime minister? Clearly he does, and he is not just saying so to shock his own party to its senses. “I think there is a possibility that Jeremy Corbyn can win … a real possibility. Look at how close he got in terms of percentage share [in June].”

May just had a pretty bad interview on Marr. You know things are going badly for the Tories when their 'positive' policy announcements, like lifting the pay cap and freezing tuition fees, have been met with a storm of media criticism and general scorn. They are literally trapped, anything popular they announce will be hammered for both not going as far as Corbyn and being a reversal of their previous policy.
