Just-In-Timeberlake posted:hang on let me janitor my spreadsheet because microsoft assumes scientific notation is a thing that people want by default the worst thing about this isn't that it scientific notates things, but that if you convert it after it's already done, then it will lose a bunch of numbers. say, you enter in 1234 5678 9012 3456 and then it does its thing, after you change it to a text only thing or something, it will become 1234 5678 9012 0000

I see absolutely zero downsides to an ms acquisition of ea. - ea gets shut down - the ms guy gets promoted to another division to ruin something else - gamers go nuts - xbox continues to be irrelevant

hp's strategy for the last 20 years: make 1 premium ultimate laptop. it gets good reviews on first impression, but is more expensive and shittier than the apple alternative that it's copying. use that design language except translate all the metal to plastic and all the chrome to silver painted plastic, for every laptop. use this for every single laptop in the range. be shocked when nobody buys the expensive ultimate one (because it's worse and more expensive than the apple version), and also nobody buys the cheap one because it's garbage. Come out with 1 new premium ultimate laptop.

the reason is because of all of the various licensing based on whatever oracle decides so you can buy an intel cpu that gets you max performance without having to renegotiate your license so really it’s Larry’s fault

don’t forget that in the release version of 8, the target to bring up the start screen was 1 pixel. in the corner.

# ¿ May 13, 2019 20:34 |

and the right side share menu with the power options? also a 1 pixel border down the right edge. no mouse sticking either so if you had two monitors, good luck

# ¿ May 13, 2019 20:35 |

you could also bring up a preview of your open windows with another 1 pixel border starting from the top left corner.

gently caress office 365 and the integration with onedrive. trying to work on a document with multiple people? well your folder structure that we've trained you to use for the last 30 years is done with, now you have to manually janitor each and every document, and nobody knows where anything is, and trying to create new documents just creates a big web of files with no central repository
