there's a microphone plugged into the microphone jack on my sound card, the card that should be handling sound stuff, but the web cam on usb port 9 says it has a mic so let's use that one for everything

puretracks was the one i used most recently and they apparently shut down in 2013

spotify offered me a $3/3mo deal and so far it sounds like they might have the edge on deezer, because their "we'll just build a playlist on the fly" playlist is more than a mishmash of the songs i'd indicated some interest in in the past

my mouse both wakes up the computer from sleep for no reason, and refuses to be awake when the rest of the computer wakes up from sleep so i have to go into device manager and scan for hardware changes
