Yeah, it's hilarious how quickly Elias went from "kinda creepy and extremely suspect" in the first episode to completely naive and lovable goofball in this one.

It's exactly that. It cuts her magic so she doesn't go overboard. And the big one she wears like a pendant is a beacon for Elias iirc.
