Hater even showed them the screenshot of him asking goons to say the most incriminating things they could think of, but the brain trust at /r/dereksmart refused to accept that they'd been had and the joke continues to this day. The $45k dude was just some crazy person who genuinely "got" us until he deleted all his accounts and disappeared. No idea who he was, but afaik he wasn't affiliated with either goons or derek smart murder fantasy guys. They've essentially dried up, yes. CIG can't legally deny them in some countries, so what they do is tell you that you have to wait for a "refund specialist" who never really shows up. There have been only a handful of actual refunds since I think January, and most of those have some kind of special circumstance.
