Meteoric iron doesn't really factor into this, by the late bronze age not only were bronze alloys stronger than meteoric iron, but a method for small scale smelting of terrestrial iron was created by the Hittite's and known in most all of the affected cultures. The Egyptians knew it and were notable in their disdain for iron, preferring and sticking to bronze all the way until the neo-assyrian conquest well into the iron age.
