Early Minus the Bear was basically DL4 Worship: The Band and it's a shame they don't do that anymore and their last album was plain boring rock music and it loving sucked and lacked any creativity at all. Or hell, maybe they still do it, but the last album sure wasn't interesting at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mLzAf0LhLA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CwL3yb1pLY Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 05:46 on Jan 21, 2018 |

The Doom 2016 soundtrack literally gets me pumped up to do anything. I've listened to that soundtrack while playing other games because most other game soundtracks don't even come close.

I'm at a Sleep show (waiting for them to go on) and trying to count how many Marshalls they have on stage. It's no less than 10 ahahahaha My ears are about to bleed. gently caress me.

s.i.r.e. posted:I think it's a collection of generic djenty trash without a good riff or melody line. Remove the guitar parts and there's something of interest but once those pieces of poo poo come on, faaaaaaart. I love the game to death and I remember all of it, from the kills, weapons and levels almost by heart but I can't hum a single riff from the soundtrack. BFG Division is the same riff for 9 minutes; it's an absolute chore. I've tried listening to the soundtrack on it's own several times and I've never made it through. Then again, I wouldn't consider myself a big metalhead so it probably just isn't for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqMQsxbpS4U

Swans was the loudest show I'd ever seen until Boris. And I don't know if seeing Sleep last week was louder than Boris, but it was certainly close at least.

NonzeroCircle posted:According to one of my lecturers many years ago, he saw Swans in the 80s and it was so loud the venue couldn't hear the telephones ringing with complaints about the volume. I don't know how people were able to order drinks at the bar at the venue where I saw Swans and Boris. Like those bartenders must have some crazy good hearing to be able to understand drink orders over immense volume like that. Or maybe they have good earplugs that makes it easier to manage. Because the bar at that venue isn't even super far away from the stage. Like there's the stage, then a pit area, then you step up and there's the bar in the center right behind the pit area with booths/seating on both sides of the bar.

I understand it though. I’m working on an EP and I never make progress because I’m always chasing something better and more refined. The internet has been wonderful for music/guitar but also invites many new ways to self criticize and compare yourself to what you feel is expected in the modern industry.
