Hey everyone,

This is mostly a rant/story piece about my dead horse of a car, I do need an answer to a serious question however.

I was driving with my friend in Shenandoah mountains planning to spend the day there, draw some scenery, take a hike maybe. I had finally reached the crest of the mountain and decided to pull off into an over look to sit and look at the scenery. When I had parked and ate my lunch, I decided to check the oil before we took off as the engine consumes quite a bit oil when scaling large inclines. When I checked I noticed a puddle of dirty coolant had gushed itself from the engine, how long it had been leaking was anyone's guess. I waited for the engine to cool and discovered that the radiator was just about out of coolant, knowing that something like this was bound to happen with a half dead five-hundred dollar old is gold American family perennial car, I had packed 2 gallons of coolant with me when I first bought it. I refilled and burped the radiator, closed the hood just enough to let air ram thru into the engine bay and left to find a ranger station, mostly in hopes that they would let me use their garage, they laughed and told me and my half dead horse to get the gently caress off their mountain. Thankfully the drive was mostly downhill so I could keep the engine off and coast until the main roads. We listed into the town of Luray and grabbed a burger, hit up an autozone to stock up on resources and refilled the radiator, we set off to the main route and had to stop every 6 miles to cool down the engine and refill the radiator. One hundred fifteen miles we had to do this process, all the way until home.

I have reason to believe that the gaskets in the water-pump shat themselves while scaling the mountains, it could be a hose too maybe. There is a lot of wetness in the front and around the fan. Could anyone give me hint?

Kept checking the oil everytime we stopped to see if they popped as well, so far the oil is still clean. Won't be surprised if I warped the heads a little

When you're leaking coolant just use water, it doesn't dump coolant on the ground and you're not wasting money on coolant.
