Not sure why they're doing it this way. We all know that just a pile of seed on a plate in the middle of the road is the best way to attract them.

Just got finished watching Planet Earth 2 last night, and all 6 episodes have some really cool stuff about birds. Episode 6 in particular looks at Peregrine falcons in New York City, and starlings in Rome. It's some really beautiful stuff, and I recommend anybody who likes birds watch it. Very few birds are caught by other predators in this one.Ariong posted:Is it intentional that the boy is dressed exactly like Bart Simpson? Because that's a Bart if I've ever seen one. I saw some plovers near my work about a week ago, and I was very excited to see them. I tried to take a picture, but the window was a bit too dirty to get a clean shot, and they ran away once I opened the door. I was very upset, but still felt very good to have seen a family of baby plovers and what I guess was their mother up close.

What ever happened to that person who was going to post pictures of their chickens? It's been, like, a month and still no dang chickens. Also, the only chicken (rooster, more correctly) I encountered in real life jumped on my head and dug it's talons into me on at least 2 different occasions. Yes, the same rooster both times.

This rating system is bullshit. Oh, yeah, this bird right here is great. 5 stars, for sure. But there are 2 just out of sight that we don't have that could potentially be better. So on those grounds, we are deducting points. Absolute clown time here in the bird thread.

I know it's a silly little contest, but the kakapo has only just recently gone from being functionally extinct to just being critically endangered. So maybe let it have a little more time in the spotlight.

You know what, that was stupid of me. I should've considered that there are many more critically endangered birds on NZ. Very dumb. I just like the kakapo, but I guess I wouldn't have known about it if not for that video. So fair on them.
