Well folks, another year is almost upon is. It's time for the resolution thread!

Post your resolutions for 2018. In January I'll hide this thread in the vaults, then next December we can bring it back to see how we did.

If you made a resolution last year, that thread is back! Did you complete your resolutions, or did your life take you to interesting new places instead?

• Play more new games. Our Sunday-night game has been L5R 4e/5e for aaaages, with only a break for me running Godbound. I know the GM is like me in his enjoyment of new/weird games, but getting everyone else on board is a stretch.

• Play more card/boardgames.

• Write games. Last couple of years I've put down specific numbers for freelance vs. self published vs. whatever, but screw it.

• Drum more, wither with the Big Drums group or another crew. One gig in January already sorted, but more more more

• Cut down my gunpla backlog.

• Start cycling again. The torn ligament was five years ago...

4. get a job? ish?

Out here, everything hurts.

1. Finish building and painting my 40k Space Wolves
2. Play at least half a dozen games with them.
3. Start an ongoing tabletop game. It's been five years since I played anything but a one-shot, clearly I just need to GM.
4. Write a game. It's been a bucket list thing for ages, so just drat well do it.

Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.
Ship Pigment, which Kickstarted in November.
Have a booth SOMEHOW at PAX East, and again at PAX Unplugged.
Kickstart Chiseled, a deck-sculpting game about.. well... sculpting.

Play in an RPG for at least a few months. Might be joining a Starfinder game; who knows, though.
Keep writing fiction.
Have a game day every 3 months (or more regularly, ideally).

By tooth and claw!
1. Still be running Exceptional X-Men.
2. Start a new PbP campaign that's also still going by the end of the year.
3. Usher Dragon Ball Parallels into its final form and begin a public playtest.
4. Get another book out. At least one.
5. Launch a patreon or whatever the new hotness is gonna be.
6. Start learning another language in preparation for the post-Brexit exodus.
7. Practice drawing/sketching.
8. Get back on my bullshit meds.
9. Lose another 10kg or more.
10. Do my best to make people happy, starting with myself.

You know you didn't have to go post that, right?
But it's fine, I guess...

2. Run at least one adventure using said hack to completion

And I'll add a specific one: enter the cosplay contest at UKGE again, with a new costume.

Enough sideburns to last a lifetime.
This helped me get off my rear end last year, so might as well continue.

1. Continue sculpting and casting miniatures. Maybe try to sell some to other nerds, maybe just start discussing it with people here because there's not a lot of sculpting talk on trad games.

2. Finish at least one game in a sellable state, put it on DriveThru, and make no money whatsoever from it because it's doubtlessly niche as hell.

3. Keep playing games with people, including running regular Mordheim sessions and my monthly design/playtest jam.

4. Train at least one dog to do something entirely unexpected.

Lipstick Apathy
1. Paint my first miniatures. I'm planning on buying all the D&D board games and painting the blank minis that come with them.

2. Run a Roll 20 game with the Adventures in Middle-Earth rules for D&D 5e.

Coach Nagy, you want me to throw to WHAT side of the field?

Hair Elf
1. Actually finish a god drat campaign that I'm running. I lost momentum the last few campaigns I've tried to run by making the scope way too big and giving way too much decision making to a group that was way too dissimilar to play together. This time, I'm working on a better, clearer plot and make sure I have a better understanding of the system before we start playing. We're gonna be playing Broken Worlds because I figure if you might as well go whole hog and have insane power levels and everyone seems to really like the setting.

2. Keep playing new board games, I found a lot of cool games last year and want to keep finding new ones.

3. Stay on the weightloss bandwagon, I lost nearly 50 pounds since the end of April and I'm more than halfway to my final goal

Everything is Sinister

1. Try and paint more minis, in particular I aim to undertake oaths in the Oath thread for every month of 2018 and have at least one fully-painted army by the end of the year.
2. Play more games, and try to get people to try out Deadzone at my LGS.
3. Do a NaNoWriMo.

Non-TG stuff

- This means you'll need to study hard, fool.
- Keep working this job throughout this semester, it's gonna look fantastic on your CV when you graduate
