yeah and now they're masterfully flipping the script by revealing that the NFL actually was just trying to throw everyone off the trail, and that secretly Tom Brady is the commissioner of the National Football League

next year is the last year of his deal. I doubt the Cowboys, whose big free agency moves this year were signing Nolan Carroll and Stephen Paea (both were cut midseason), are going to trade for him.

A lot of that is they've been low on cap space for years ever since loving their cap after the penalty from the lockout year.

But... yeah, they've got ~$23m in cap space next year, due to a bunch of dead money from Romo but they have to sign Demarcus Lawrence, so that'll eat up a ton of space.

This earl Thomas stuff is crazy. I know he’s from TX but to straight up walk into the opponents locker room after a game and ask them to trade for you is pretty nuts. I have a secret fear of Marcus Peters doing something like this with Oakland

The only way that makes sense is if Pete told the team he's retiring after the season or something.

And even then that's a pretty nuts thing to do.

Kam and Sherman might not be on the team, he's feuding with Bobby. Are you surprised?

I guess Thomas thinks he'll be cut by the Seahawks this offseason, which could make things interesting, I guess. But yeah, they need to re-sign Lawrence (~$12M, depending on how they structure it). Though the rest of their free agents are uh, not exactly "must-keep" players besides long snapper Ladoceur. Maybe Hitchens? The Cowboys can make room by trading Dez Bryant (or cutting him, but that's even less likely), or if Witten retires.
