God, I'd like to see him make a full recovery, even if he never races again. Crossposting from NASCAR, but hey, NEW WINTER HEAT THREAD ! https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3874931 If you don't know what ^that^ is, we've had a CyTube channel for 5-6 years now where we watch old racin' which is primarily active in the offseason but can be used year-round. If you have something you want to have a goonwatch of, bump that thread (and probably this one, too) with some lead time and other people will wander in. I had considered doing a weekly re-watch of CART but hadn't actually followed through...yet. CBJSprague24 fucked around with this message at 01:49 on Nov 21, 2018 |

This article popped up on my google news feed; pretty cool stuff about how they're doing computer simulation work with multiple cars and even translating that into the feedback in the full-blown simulator at the Dallara facility in speedway. https://www.nextplatform.com/2018/11/20/hpc-just-changed-indycar-races-for-the-long-haul/

Alonso will run a Chevy at the 500, with Andretti technical support. He’s also running in the WTR #10 for the Daytona 24, and putting 2 and 2 together, I think we know where McLarens 500 crew is going to come from. WTR has a bunch of good dudes with Indycar heritage too: https://racer.com/2018/11/26/alonso-set-to-make-rolex-24-return/ Jimmy Johnson wants to run some IndyCar road courses: https://bit.ly/2PSdtN4 Richard Phillipe, Nelson’s brother and a FBMW champ and Lights driver himself, died in a helicopter crash: https://www.indycar.com/News/2018/11/11-26-Richard-Philippe-killed-in-helicopter-crash

Yup just came to post that from the press release. The best part is that there is a Speedway station in the town of Speedway directly across the street from the IMS main gate, I just hope that the deal requires IndyCar activation inside Speedway stations I doubt it does Also I wonder if any Brits know the outcome https://twitter.com/12WillPower/status/1067446424206487552 KingShibby fucked around with this message at 18:35 on Nov 27, 2018 |

In fairness, Speedways are everywhere in the midwest. At least it'll sound nicer than "Sunoco race fuel."
