It was a little over 3 minutes for years, mainly because of the Sunder/Keening glitch (if you switch enchanted weapons fast enough on v1.0 of the game it will permanently add to your stats, including with the 2 critical endgame items). Sub-3 was broken only a few months ago thanks to super-optimized menu navigation, which can take a surprising amount of time out of a run. Interestingly enough, there's been some interest in glitchless routing now that any% and All Main Quests are so optimized. Any%-glitchless is currently around 6 minutes IIRC.

Had my first ever decent run of Morrowind AMQ% just now - 38:25. In the middle of the run, Volvulus (current WR holder in nearly every category of the game) discovered that the automatic load time remover wasn't active. Normally I could just edit loads out, but the community instituted a new rule literally 6 days ago that editing wasn't allowed any more. That's several minutes of the run I can't remove because I'm dumb and forgot to check if load removal was active

Well, got my hosting audition back and after 10 GDQs of reading donations (including HRDQ) I was not accepted as a host for SGDQ 2019. I asked the staff and it seems like there's some longstanding vocal issues which finally caught up with me enough to knock me out. I'm still doing donations and pre-show/interview production, so you're still not safe from my memes though.

They did, which was how I knew it was "vocal issues" (though that's oversimplifying). There were also a couple bad decisions I made which I didn't think mattered as much as they did. Got another marathon coming up this weekend for ArfJason to not watch. GDQ's One-And-Done-A-Thon season 2. For those who aren't familiar, the idea behind the marathon is that it's a series. Each runner only gets to do one speedrun in the OADAT series and can't submit another run to future OADAT marathons. So it's important for runners to chose their one run carefully. Ugh... in my 4 years of running Morrowind in speedrun marathons, that was by far my worst showing. I have never had a time that slow since I finished learning the run. I'm still not sure what was going on with the game. Everything was fine during my practice runs and tech check, but as soon as I left the starting area the game started lagging hard. My FPS was periodically dropping to a crawl and all the loads took much longer than normal. For a run as movement-heavy as Morrowind AMQ, which relies on some blind navigation during loads, that was absolutely catastrophic. Oh well, gonna throw that run in the trash where it belongs and get ready to show Daggerfall on Hotifx next Tuesday.
