Doesn't wanting to win discourage going much lower than everyone else? If winning ratios and saves with 12 points but getting 1 in wins and strikeouts isn't punishment enough, you can add starter only categories.

59th on Yahoo, I would probably pass him by myself. I tend to always be either a year too early or a year too late though. He's got the skill to be a .280 25/25 guy and more, right? I'd be more inclined to see if he struggles out of the gate and see if his owner will deal him for less.

Yuli Guerriel, anyone?

I've been taking a late flyer on him in mocks and real drafts. I know people hate bench bats in most league setups, but he's hit for average and has a bit of pop, just not as a 1B. His OBP isn't impressive, but he somehow hit .299 with only an average BABIP, so seems like .299 can be repeated, right? There's talk of him being moved around the infield, so if he could pick up even 2B eligibility, that would be a nice boost in value.

In a normal roto league, would you rather have Jose Abreu or Tommy Pham? I was offered Abreu. My CI Eduardo Nunez would slide in to OF to replace Pham. I have a bit of speed in Gordon, Nunez, and Cain, so I think my numbers would take a slight bump up. Only other 1B on my team are Justin Bour and Yuli Gurriel.

Also is this set and forget league a snake or auction draft? If it's an auction, Acuna and McMahon are being nominated in rounds 1 and 2

Yahoo seems to love Chris Taylor (at least in their "this league's settings value" ranking) while ESPN isn't so bullish. I wound up taking him in this first draft of the year, trying to see how things would go in a league that actually matters:

C: Manny Pina
1B: Ryan Zimmerman
2B: DJ Lamahieu
3B: Jose Ramirez
SS: Chris Taylor
OF: Nelson Cruz, Domingo Santana, Tommy Pham
UT: Eddie Rosario, Matt Olson
BN: Yoan Moncada, Matt Kemp

SP: Chris Sale, Corey Kluber, Kyle Hendricks, Garret Richards, Mike Clevinger, Michael Fulmer
RP: Chris Devenski, Chad Green, Josh Hader, Carl Edwards, Emilio Pagan

Overall pretty balanced with no real standouts on offense. Counting stats may be middle of the pack. Top of the line ratios and strikeouts- just need to scour the wire for saves

Tue, Mar 6

Rangers signed RHP Tim Lincecum to a one-year, $1 million contract.

Advice: The deal was agreed to last week and then finalized Tuesday after Lincecum arrived at Rangers camp in Arizona and passed the necessary physical. The veteran right-hander didn't pitch anywhere professionally in 2017 and posted a hideous 9.16 ERA and 2.37 WHIP in nine starts with the Angels in 2016, but he has regained some velocity on his fastball through intense winter workouts at the Driveline Baseball Research Lab and will look to revitalize his career in the Rangers' bullpen. He could even compete for saves.

Saves can definitely be punted in the draft. Every year I give another strategy a try but picking up saves during the season is tried and true

I hope it happens for non-fantasy reasons and he holds on a few more seasons even in a part time role to get 700. I don't know what happened to his batting eye. Or is it bat speed? Walks have been declining and strikeouts creeping up.

I started playing 04 and he's been close to the #1 player in that span. Sad to see him undrafted.
