Glorious free market news, Capita has continued to poo poo the bed the day after the crash, falling through the floor at 190 set by yesterday's trading: For investors to make anything back on the face price now, they'd have to have bought in at *looks* This is (only, and even then just marginally) good for Blair's early investors? In conclusion PFI bad Capita bad. e: 2 is the market price of Capita shares by the end of week's trading.

New Ware wine bar 'would lead to more graveyard sex', residents warnquote:One resident — who lives nearby the building — told the council about her experience with anti-social behaviour caused by customers at existing venues in the area, including Jacoby’s, The Lodge and Punch House.

Seeing the phrase "graveyard sex" pop up and finding it has little or nothing to do with our ruling class's predilections for once was quite the surprise there.

Immigration is... Good?

They don't give a gently caress if immigration improves their lives, they just hate foreigners. Arguing that immigration is in fact good for the economy etc just gives credibility to their arguments. We should be arguing that boarders are loving abhorrent ways of protecting wealthy countries that rob the poorer countries.

Taxing a percentage of that (if it gets paid) and handing an artificially constricted percentage of that in turn down while the press blame said immigrants constantly for the failings of false austerity is not going to win many followers to the idea. Also as above.

Btw for Josef Bugman, I'd also recommend Fifty Key Contemporary Thinkers by Lechte - it'll give you an overview of some key ideas since 1945 and might point you the way you want.

Every single one of these pieces is exactly the loving same. "New Labour did good things! What about tax credits and extra funds for the NHS? Also here's my next article about how it's time to privatise the NHS and how we have to embrace the destruction of the welfare state. " Everything they bring up in defence of New Labour are the things they react to as if Stalin had risen from the grave when Ed Miliband proposed them. What they really want to write is "Yeah PFI has been a colossal failure that's cost us massively, but my mate Reginald made a killing out of it so it's impossible to say if it's bad or good."

The article in question. quote:No one should forget the catastrophic mess that was the Iraq war, which will always be a stain on Blair’s legacy. But to remember him simply for that and forget, for example, the humanitarian intervention in Kosovo is absurd. It shouldn’t become an excuse to write Blair off as some sort of neoliberal puppet. Oh, right. That absolves him them. Oh, wait, no it loving doesn't. quote:The cuts to public services and welfare that we angrily criticise the Tories for today are usually cuts to New Labour’s achievements, to their legacy. Arguments could be made that New Labour did not challenge Margaret Thatcher’s economic consensus, but then no government is without its mistakes. It ends on a literal "Well, at least they're not as bad as the Tories" argument. There's so much wrong with that article. Holy poo poo. So, we're balloting to select our next prospective parliamentary candidate for Loughborough on Saturday. The Momentum candidate is a guy called Sachin Patel; there are four other candidates, two definitely Not Correct, one who sounds a decent lefty, and a woman who barely shows up on Google but joined the party in 2008. Loughborough's a Tory marginal and a bellwether seat, so it matters who we pick. Anyone local got any insider knowledge or opinions here? since otherwise I'll probably vote for Sachin, he seems a decent chap.

They haven't been doing that well in the selection contests, and the last thing we need is a Corbyn government unable to pass anything because his own backbenchers are neoliberal pricks.
