They don't give a gently caress if immigration improves their lives, they just hate foreigners. Arguing that immigration is in fact good for the economy etc just gives credibility to their arguments. We should be arguing that boarders are loving abhorrent ways of protecting wealthy countries that rob the poorer countries.

So, we're balloting to select our next prospective parliamentary candidate for Loughborough on Saturday. The Momentum candidate is a guy called Sachin Patel; there are four other candidates, two definitely Not Correct, one who sounds a decent lefty, and a woman who barely shows up on Google but joined the party in 2008. Loughborough's a Tory marginal and a bellwether seat, so it matters who we pick. Anyone local got any insider knowledge or opinions here? since otherwise I'll probably vote for Sachin, he seems a decent chap.

They haven't been doing that well in the selection contests, and the last thing we need is a Corbyn government unable to pass anything because his own backbenchers are neoliberal pricks.
