Has anyone seen collections of this game put up for sale yet? Never kept track of Armada but about how long would I be waiting for a decent collection with bargain bin prices? A year? Might just wait for some summer sales and get myself a snowspeeder to paint for now.

Will Ewoks and Porgs be made available at some point? I want to play with a tribe of Ewoks and/or Porgs. Someone please send this up to FFG corporate, we still don’t have Lt Kettch for x wing either.

Porgs can fly ships and can train to be Jedi so I think it’s reasonable for them to be shock troops with sonic assault weapons .

The airspeeder ended up being a bit bigger than its legion counterpart, the AT-ST is noticeably smaller. Both are 1:48.

Th Airspeeder was a cinch to assmelble, mostly snap fit. The AT-ST... I don't know why my brain couldn't get around it but I got it for a terrain wreck anyway and ended up assembling it even less than I thought I would for that purpose out of frustration.

The effect is still pretty cool: Three LEDs flash intermittently to give the impression the crew compartment is on fire:

Toasted Ewoks, yum.

I must have overestimated the size of the snowspeeder and underestimated the size of the ATST since they both still seem wrong to me.

Will there be any plans to release an ewok in a speeder bike, ewok glider, or chewbacca on an ATST? I'm already splitting the base game box so I get the Rebels, but my paint queue is long and I'd put this up further in line if I knew I could get a complete Endor battlegroup together.

I guess you could enjo-jo the side of a terrain piece, like a building or something.

Would a Star Wars Jo-Jo have a Stand named after in-universe music?

Like just a dude yelling CANTINA SONG at a sith or whatever, followed by midi-midi-midi-midi-midi, and the sith's face getting caved in.

That’s true. I could get an airspeeder from MM, only $9 right now. I was saving the ATST to be something more Sabine-like but I think JoJo part 4 is pretty much analogous to sabine’s style.

I have some legion minis and I’m still waiting on Ewoks to make a full Endor squad but I do like the dynamic poses of the new minis. Gives me a reason to fire up the airbrush and do some OSL again. Assuming they’re compatible sizes I likely will pick up a few.

Friend told me that there was a change in legion's plastics somewhere down the line. I remember the earlier plastics feeling more like the soft plastic of imperial assault and my friend mentioned the new plastics are much better. Is there a cutoff for when the new plastics started and does it cover the new starter boxes (e.g. Rebel hoth team) that include old models?

(reason being the latter is 100% easier to clean, and the former has tons of mold-shifts and low quality.....resolution? so it makes it harder to tell what's an intentional pant seam and what's a gap because of the mold)

The trade off seems to be that the plastic for the former you could throw across the room and it'd be fine, whereas the latter you have to be marginally more careful with.

That’s mostly the reason why I want the harder plastic. You’re not so much removing flash but carving the mini and it’s on you if you remove some details while doing so. There is that trade off but I imagine unless you’re playing with kids it’s safe to assume you’re playing with adults who’ll respect your minis.

I think a lot of this stuff is doing two things.

1) It is arguably more narrative and thematic to structure battleforces around specific characters rather than relying on a fixed catch all army structure.

2) PDF releases can be knocked out in an office and released whenever, while new miniatures releases are at the mercy of supply chains and lead times. It is pretty clear that there aren't going to be a huge amount of new minis in the first half of this year so putting out new game modes and battleforce rules gives the community something to engage with until Ewok's turn up.

Is there an update on when Ewoks might come out?

OK thanks for the heads up. I think for the first couple boxes it won't be a problem since I assume I'll need one of each anyway. It's afterwards that's going to be the problem. At least the rebel troopers/commandos being allowed means less upfront cost but eventually you'd want to represent a "real" force org which should be minority rebels and majority ewoks.

I assume people use the extra upgrade models (like the trapper/axe) and modify them to bulk up/create new units without having to buy more boxes?

StashAugustine posted:

Idk if that really works for ewoks, since the spear and sling units take up different slots in the force org it's theoretically possible you could run 9 boxes at once. Most boxes have enough models to run all possible options, it's just that ewoks (as well as wookiees) are effectively two different units in a single box

Yeah I just mean that effectively, let's say you have 5 boxes of ewoks. So that'll be 5 trappers and 5 axe wielders that you might not use for all of your units. You could then use those extra minis to make a 6th squad, right? Would just need to make a copy of the stat card.

Assembling my ATST and Ewoks and it's a dream, very minor mold lines and I just use sanding sticks for the plates and light usage of the knife. And half the plates that have mold lines are covered by other pieces. Much different experience from GW minis (skinks, so made within the last year) which I've also done recently. Funny how if a company gives a drat they can make some nice minis right out of the box.

I actually have more problems with the gap filling and they're also minor and don't require some of the awful clamping I needed to do with GW minis.

What are some good mixed Ewok/rebel lists that use Chewie's ATST? Last time I researched this it seemed like you had to do an all-Ewok list with bare minimum rebel commanders and just horde at objectives.

I want to do something like this:
https://legionhq.thefifthtrooper.co...,Db,Dm,Cc,Ce,Ca

or switch out a couple ewok squads for another endor rebel troopers list with heavy weapons or upgrades.

Is a list like this viable for tournaments? Would be a shame if you're practically forced to use all Ewoks, from a thematic and interesting gameplay perspective. Horde armies instead of mixed units don't really interest me. Hopefully we get some support flyers or catapults to have more varied options in the future.

I guess I’m not too far off, I really like the idea of having a sniper but I guess they are pretty expensive for what you get especially if it’s just one squad plinking away with a single rifle. I hadn’t thought of using the Astro mech droid and I did just buy the specialists squad on sale
